That was a game i hope will make everyone more relaxed...
I know pep...I will brief...
I watched Iniesta and Abidal with joy - for obvious reasons.

My selection was close only Gudi was not in my orbit, Marquez selection was due to Alves injury - which was something I am not surprised it happened.

Even though early scoring helped, but Atletico would have no chance to win with the fitness level they showed, and their coach had to know it and play 5 in midfield rather than 4 with 2 strikers. I predicted their selection, only Maniche wasn't there because got injured and Garcia was my 5th midfielder and he played so.
Ok I will brief "stop".

It could have been much more than 6-1, but who could complain about result? One of the best games and best performances I've ever been watching. I have to say something about the players which are constantly exposed at criticism.
Valdes-with every game better and better
Abidal-had a great game last night (I hope he'll stay after January transfer window)
Eto'o-it's time for renewal, FCB wouldn't find better striker at the market.

Maybe, it would be great to get one player in January to play attacking mid.(replacements for Deco and R10). Some of my suggestions:
-Diego (Werder)
-Hamsik (Napoli)
-Affelay (PSV)
-Moutinho (Sporting)
-Veloso (Sporting)

Also, Iniesta is playing left excellent, so there's no need to buy left winger (Hleb was playing that position at Arsenal, so he can be cover)

Hope you don't mind about my overview.

Its party time HouseMD:)
everyone have to sing a song, so your overview is more than welcomed.
With all the midfielders available, I think Barcelona will think twice before installing another one, but it worth taking in consideration.

@Ramzi: it's just my "wish-list" in case of selling Gudjohnsen or anyone else in January. But, I agree with you, at this moment there's no need for another mid.

Eto'o renewal is really a must, I totally agree with HouseMD.

He's just the best there is, he knows the system, the club, the league. And he has acted so graciously all summer long, showed he really cares about the club. What a player, what a guy!

I don't think a midfielder is really necesary. We also have Hleb who can play there. Another player cannot ask a lot. If something you should get something that we don't have (winger, tall forward).

But I'm pretty sure Guardiola won't ask for anything (unless we have some serious injury).

Just ramble on, Ramzi! You have a reputation to defend ;-)

I'm glad that someone agree with me FCBEE :)

Look, I defended Eto'o staying all summer long (as anonymous) and you said it great FCBEE, Eto'o is just our guy, that's it!
(he only wants Barca and he said it after the match when he scored 100th goal-I want to score 200-that's a signal for staff to go for RENEWAL)

Not just he's a goalscorer, he's perfectly understanding with Messi ad Iniesta.

Regarding mids, that's only in case if FCB sell Yaya and Gudjohnsen in January.

That was a perfection so everybody needs to enjoy until the next game.
My only worry is a lack of playing for Yaya and Caceres.
In Caceres case it seems that we payed a big price (16 mil.) for unproven guy and what is worst thing,
he is playing almost zero time.
I just hope that Guardiola pulls this just like everything he did.

Més que un club!!!

Caceres still has to adapt, so I don't think that's a problem. He knew before the season that he wouldn't be a regular and that he was here to learn this season.

Touré is a different story. He's a more established player. That also worries me. But I don't see a solution there.

Busquets didn't have his best game yesterday, maybe Touré will be back soon.

Anyway, no time to wory now...

Maybe I over-reacted with Caceres but everyone really see that Yaya is a big problem.
Barca needs to find a quick solution if they dont want to lose him in January transfer market.

Més que un club!!!

Djoef and k-1 you're absolutely right. Yaya is playing less and less and I still cannot understand why is Guardiola constantly playing Keita and Busquets instead Yaya.
Maybe it's a sign for Wenger who lacks def mid to sign him in January.
Buying Keita was unnecessary move and it would be much better if Barca signed someone to replace Deco and R10 (you can see my "wish list" at the top).

Anonymous said...

Yes I agree housemd,Yaya is better than Keita in a defensive role and we already have plenty of attacking midfielders.
So I dont see a point of buying him.
But you never know.
Maybe Txiki knows something that we dont.

The only player that should be bought would be a huge power player up front, someone like Koller (not him, he's too old, but that type of player). We need a guy that can cause havoc with 100% muscle (and some fat is also ok) inside the box, especially when the tactics dont work against very defensive walls banging our head. But it is OK for now. Busquets should play, he's great.

Yaya might play instead of Keita, that would be good for him. He has lots of offensive potential if called upon. The front 4 are magic at the moment. What a team!

Yes, buying new striker will be necessary very soon. A few more solid performances of Henry and Gudjohnsen and I hope we can wave them goodbye in January.
Guys with 100% muscle are Adriano and Ibrahimovic (but we cannot count on them).
But the other one(s) could be (maybe not that strong):
-Huntelaar (Ajax)
-Djibril Cisse (call me crazy -Sunderland)
-Pogrebnyak (Zenit-real destroyer)

Even though I am not a fan of panic buys, and I will only think of buying a player if Man city offered what neither barcelona nor henry can resisit (unlikely), But "if" that happened, I may probably think of a short term solution in january till summer because the best options are cup tied and cannt play in CL.
my plan is getting Crespo in january, who can play in CL, and I think barcelona have a chance to loan him or buy him for cheap.
He can do the job in box, and most importantly he will not complain for being a second option after Eto'o.

HouseMD, the last time I said "call me crazy" everyone started to kick my a** just for the fun of it!:)
I dont recommend that you try that experience;)

I was so happy for Henry, never saw him celebrate a goal the way he did last night! even when he scores for France,Arsenal?
and man! he was smiling for the first time since ages,
I was kind of feeling sorry for him, family problems, bad 1st season in Barca, bad euro 2008, mercyless spanish press..too much for a 31 Frenchman!
hope the comming days are carrying some good news for him.

hey guys I am aware of what you guys are saying about Yaya!!! however, i think that it will be very difficult for him this year. when Yaya plays life becomes extremely difficult for our attackers. because he is pretty slow and he wants to toy around with the ball as much as xavi and Iniesta. we can't have three such players in the game at the same time. i prefer Keita by far...even though all this rotation is preventing him from settling down. this kid is quick and has a nose for goal....i love him

anybody knows Dani's injury grade?

Anonymous said...

...for me,the performance, the passion and the will to win brought us a game that we can be proud of to see...maybe it was lucky and made things easier after the early goals, but to stabilize the team-spirit and unity it was best can happen...i'm still not with gudy or henry, but it's nice to see both emotionally positive giving all they have for the team...hope it's like you said ramzi and we can give the youth a chance by letting them play in a well attuned team where they can learn and benefit or gain experiance cause the promotion of our own youth players are what makes our club so special...ONE LOVE...BARCA FOREVER,EVER!!!!!...good job pep...let it roll...
