Henry: "Nothing has changed under Guardiola"

In an interview with French football site Football 365, Barcelona forward and French international Thierry Henry (31) talked about the situation of the team and his personal situation a few weeks after the start of the new season.

What went wrong for Barcelona this season before the impressive performance against Sporting Gijón last Sunday?
Before the match in Gijón, we had a big problem: every time that the opposite team entered our penalty area, they scored. While we, on the other hand, could be in their area I don't know how many times and shoot from all possible angles, but we had difficulties to find the net. At the highest level, that's what makes the difference. And when you don't score, you always give the opponent some hope. And you often pay for that. That's what happened against Racing Santander: they didn't come out, they have one free-kick and they score.

The arival of Guardiola has changed something about the way the team plays?
No, not at all. It will not change here either. No manager that has coached Barcelona has changed something. You should know that they always play 4-3-3 here, that's the tradition of Barcelona and that's how they play. I knew beforehand that nothing would change, even when this coach has established some more discipline in the group.

Regarding your position, nothing has changed either despite the arrival of a new coach. How do you feel about playing another season on the left wing?
The coach decides to play me on the left. That's the way it is, I play on the left. Unfortunately, after 14 years, you see that having fun is secondary. The team is the most important thing. So if the coach decides that I'm better skilled to play on the left wing, you have to accept that. It's true that I prefer to play in the centre, that's nothing new, everybody knows it, but in football your preferences aren't always realized. The coach prefers me on the left, so I try every time to give my best and to bring some danger from the left. With the arrival of a new coach, you always have some hopes, that's normal, but in the end nothing has changed. I have to play on the left so I changed my mind set.

I perfectly understand him. At the same time I hope both Barcelona and Henry will take the though but right decision to look for an exit as soon as possible. I would like to keep him as a sub, but he's just too expensive for that and it would probably also make him lose his spot in the french team, so no one would benefit from that.

the thing is we play better with iniesta on left ,and better with eto in cf so there is no starting position for henry(in big games),and with the money he is earning i would prefer bojan and pedro as rotation/subs anytime.he needs to leave.man city january maybe????
