Eto'o wants to score 200 goals in Barcelona shirt

Asked about the fact that he scored yesterday against Betis his 100th official goal as a Barcelona player, Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (27) has said at a press conference that he feels satisfied:

"It's an honour to reach that number. It means that I was lucky to be able to play a lot of games with this team and spend a lot of years at this club. I'm very happy and I hope to reach the 200 goals wearing this same shirt. I can't say anything about a possible renewal. The season will be very long, we will talk, there's enough time for that.

I wouldn't know if the old Eto'o is back. I'm this year's Eto'o and I feel very good. The injuries are behind me. Scoring or not, physically I am in good shape. I won't be the Eto'o of three seasons ago because I am now three years older now, but I am still Eto'o, with the same desire to win every game, with the same desire to help the team."

Watch goals number 99 and 100 here (as an extra you get the Eto'o-Guardiola hug)

I love Eto'o, there is no striker in the world who is going to work as hard as him on the pitch. He is like some sort of turbo charged super player, he just doesnt stop! Harassing defenders and goal keepers, tracking back covering out of position players, he really plays his heart out. Honestly i think he is going to be the best "signing" we made this summer. And some ppl wanted to replace him.....HAH.....Adebay-who??? u think that fool is going to work as hard as eto'o and give half what eto'o gives....no chance! He's just tall, thats it, hes not even that clinical. Sure Eto'o has lost some pace and he hasnt got that killer run, but he makes up for it with shear work rate and determination.

I loved the hug with Guardiola for two reasons.....first it shows how much Eto'o truly loves Barca and two it demonstrates that Pep is no Frank and he wants to make sure there is a clear line between players and coach....i bet Eto'o got a quiet word after the game :)

Hey Pep, can you write a report on the Eto Guardiola Hug, what was that all about? It was like Guardiola was saying "WTF is wrong with you?!" and all Eto wanted to do is celebrate the winning goal, why was'nt Pep as exicted, he seemed a bit irrated, anyways I hope both of them have a good relationship ..

I also got the same reaction from the Eto'o/Pep hug.

Eto'o seemed really depressed coming off as the game was tied, and very excited that his team took the lead. While willing to share this with Pep, I feel his reaction was very much as posted above.. WTF?! After which he did offer Eto'o a hug, although to me it seemed more of a ok.. now please go sit down, I gave you a hug.

I guess perhaps Pep doesn't share his enthusiasm.

yep thats what i am talking about hehehehe.
guardiola :eto wtf are you doing ?
eto: ehmm celebrating.....we scored!!!!!
guardiola :ehm i dont know what to do now.....ok here's a little hug ,whats out my suit its armani.

it was kind of awkward, but thats eto,you can see the passion he has for the team.also guardiola needs to losen up a bit and have better relationsip with the players.some may say but why celebrate in such a game ,if it was a final or sth but remember for 2 points we might win or lose the league.every point is important and we should celebrate every win, thats why i like eto ,it doesnt matter if it is vs real or vs betis

guardiola not share the passion? did you see him as a player?. i agree it was a funny incident, i guess pep just isnt a touchy-feely kinda guy.

I think hilal have a point. Maybe Guardiola want to keep a distance to the players. A boss-employee relationship, not being friends with the players like Rijkaard was. I'm not saying one of the approaches is right but i guess you got to choose.

i dont think pep was quite ready for the hug. the game wasnt over yet so nothing had truly been decided....lets not put too much thought into it

I think he was just more shocked when Eto'o grabbed him than anything, definitely don't think there is anything to over analyze about that.
