Sylvinho wants an extra year

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that the renewel negotiations with Barcelona left back defender Sylvinho Mendes (34), whose contract expires in June of this year, are still ongoing.

The Barcelona technical staff is satisfied with the performances and the attitude of the Brazilian player and wants him to stay next season. Despite the player admitting two weeks ago that he had received and would accept the one-year renewal proposal (read more here), the talks about the conditions could not yet be finished. While Barcelona is offering Sylvinho to renew for one year, the player would prefer to stay two more years at Barcelona. It is nevertheless expected that an agreement will be reached soon.
