Offer for Boca Juniors striker Palacio

Argentinian news agency Télam claims that Barcelona has made an offer for Boca Juniors forward Rodrigo Palacio (26). Sevilla and Chelsea would also be interested in the forward but Palacios has declared in the past that he prefers to go to Spain. Last season, the Argentinian international was rumoured for several months to be close to joining Barcelona.

Roberto Depietri, the agent of Palacios, returned from Spain this week and discussed the offer with Boca Juniors president Pedro Pompilio. Sources close to the Boca board assure that the club and the player agreed that he will be able to leave this summer. Boca Juniors vice president José Beraldi said the club will make no statements on the issue until the end of the Clausura competition and the Copa Libertadores.

Boca Juniors ownes almost 70 per cent of the player's rights. His former club Banfield is owner of 17,5 per cent and the rest belongs to Horacio Paladino, Palacio's first agent.
