Berbatov in exchange for Eto'o

British tabloid Evening Standard claims that Tottenham is preparing to offer Barcelona a swap deal: Tottenham forward Dimitar Berbatov (27) would join Barcelona if Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o (27) would come the other way. Both players have two years left on their contract.

Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has started to plan for next season without taking into account his Bulgarian striker, who has expressed the wish to play in the Champions League next season. Ramos is uderstood to have told close friends last week that he expects Berbatov to join Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Although Tottenham hoped to receive 32 million euro° for Berbatov, the club is now considering to negotiate a deal with Barcelona and take Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o in exchange. Valencia forward David Villa would be the back-up in case the Eto'o deal fails.
