Catalan sports weekly paper Gol claims that the Barcelona board does not want to sell Barcelona central defender and Mexican international Rafael Márquez (29) in the summer.
The main reason for this decision would be commercially inspired: Barcelona will shortly open a youth academy in Mexico and the fact that Márquez, who is very popular in his home country, wears the blaugrana shirt could make the academy attract more and better players.

He should stay for other reasons too. We missed him last night. With Puyol-Marquez-Milito-Abidal at the back we would have gone through.
