Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona will soon start talking on the contract renewal of Barcelona polyvalent defender and midfielder Víctor Sánchez (21) (read more here).
A scheduled meeting last Thursday between the player's agent and Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain was cancelled for personal reasons but the renewal negotiations should start in the coming days. A rapid agreement between the club and the player would be likely.
Barcelona plans to offer Víctor Sánchez, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2011, a longer deal and a higher salary. At this moment, Víctor Sánchez has still a B-team contract and gets incentives for each game in which he plays more than 15 minutes with the first team. The buyout clause of the Catalan player, that is now 10 million euro°, will also be raised.
