Juventus offers Touré five-year contract

Italian sports paper Tuttosport claims that Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré (25) is on top of Juventus' wish list.

Juventus sports director Alessio Secco has been following the Ivorian midfielder for three years and the Italian club now plans to launch a bid for Touré in January.

Juventus would already have contacted Touré's agent to offer the player a five-year contract worth 3,8 million euro a year.
Touré hasn't yet given a final answer but would be open to the possibility of moving to Italy. The player has asked for one more month in order to see how his situation in Barcelona will evolve.

To sell Toure would be a wrong decisison. Yaya was one of the best players of the last Season.

He´s a few yours younger than Seydou Keita and better...

Unfortunately, he could try to find another club. Buying Keita was bad signal for Toure and Guardiola ignoring him from the start of the season. I agree with you guys. He's much younger and better player than Keita.
And Hleb is kind of easy-to-injure player (like Milito) so it would be necessary to buy another AM if Toure decides to leave.

Touré isn't an attacking midfielder HouseMD.

I think that he will leave if the club continues to disrespect him. He was our best player last season and they can barely make room on the bench. It's a disgrace.

With Busquets coming through and with Gudjohnsen responding to the new coach, the conclusion after one month of competition could actually be that we didn't really need to buy Keita...

@simonp:

of course he's not AM. I tried to say it would be good to buy AM if he leaves because FCB will have a gap in midfield (FCB already have 2 DM beside Yaya) and having Hleb (kind a easy-to-injure player), then who will replace Xavi or Iniesta (they cannot play every game)

I would not blame the guy if he leaves but i would love to see him play for Arsenal, another team who play the game beautifully. I hope for Barca's sake and for folks like Memo that we dont regret the move.
cos when and IF Basquest makes some costly mistakes that might cos us points, then people who come back to say why was Yaya sold? he is more experienced. but I hope we wont have cos to say these things!! Enough said!!

I think there is value in having a purely defensive DM. One that is big and fast with excellent strength and ball skills is yet another advantage.

The problem is that we just can't afford to carry 3 DMs. So I don't know what happens there. The Busquets emergence has blown some stuff to smithereens, for sure.

Last season, selling Yaya was inconceivable. He was, match in and match out, our best player last season. This season, he has rarely seen the light of day. When he has, he has impressed.

But with Busquets AND Keita, what to do? Hopefully the technical staff has better answers than I, which is "I dunno."

This is such a difficult one, like most probably agree.

I like him a lot but if this doesn't change, you should consider a transfer. I would certainly wait until the summer, we can use his experience later in the season. He's still young and there will be enough interested clubs, so there's no risk of the fee dropping in that half year.

i would sell Keita right back to Sevilla and take a loss before i sold Yaya. there's only 1 player there that doesn't fit into our current system of play. Busquets should be his replacement and grateful for it.

this is another selection issue i simply disagree with Guardiola on.

He's also my number one for that spot, BA. Busquets can grow in his shadow. Guess the guy didn't even think one minute to become a first team player, so he wouldn't mind to be back-up for the next two seasons.

I think Touré was unlucky to have surgery this summer, so he wasn't at his top level when the season started.
