Brazilian club Palmeiras has confirmed on its official website that the negotiations with Barcelona on the transfer of Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21) has entered the final stage.
A deal is very close and Henrique has therefore been removed from the Palmeiras squad for this weekend's Brazilian league game. During yesterday afternoon's training session, the central defender did even have to leave the training pitch.
André Cury, a representative of sports marketing agency Traffic that ownes the rights on Henrique (read more here), confirmed the advanced stage of the negotiations to Brazilian sports site UOL Esporte: "Henrique is almost transferred. We're now just waiting for a last fax from Barcelona."
Barcelona would pay 10 million euro° for Henrique, who will sign a five-year contract. Palmeiras receives twenty per cent of the difference between the transfer fee and the 2,5 million euro fee paid by Traffic in January (read more here). Three and a half per cent of the final fee will go to Brazilian club Coritiba as training rights.
Palmeiras sports director Toninho Cecílio said in an interview with Brazilian radio station Rádio Globo that his club, that initially had hoped to be able to loan Henrique back from Barcelona until the end of the year, is alreay looking for someone to replace the player:
Brazilian sports site Globo Esporte claims that Henrique, who can play on all defense positions and as defensive midfielder, will travel to Barcelona in the beginning of next week.

dont know anything about this player, is he any good?
Should be a promising player, very good on the ball, good anticipation and good header, very versatile. Read that he could play anywhere in the defense Area (RV-IV-LV + DM).
Never seen him play, but this was a description by a poster on XT.
Would be a good utility player at the beginning for sure, with the injuries of Puyol and Márquez over the last two years, it would make sense. Even more if Cáceres good be a real contender for the LB-position.
What I don't get: Why buying this guy, when we had the chance to wrap up Garay too for nothing more (remeber, Real paid 10 Mio. at once)..
I would expect Barcelona to loan him out to one of the newly promoted teams in La Liga. I don't see him in Barcelona's plans for at least a year or two. But with Puyol's age starting to get up there, and not being the player he once was, and Milito's injury situation; you can never have enough quality defensive players. I think it will be a couple of years though before Henrique starts to pay dividends. With his age, and versatility we could be looking back at this signing in a couple of years and considering it a steal! With Pique, Caceres, and Henrique Barcelona should be well stocked at the back for years to come.
Caceres is a better signing than Garay. That was a good deal. There were reservations about Garay. He might turn out to be really good. You never know. But Caceres is exactly what we need.
Henrique will go off for some seasoning. We're suddenly very deep in the back, which is good. Abidal, Synvinho, Puyol, Milito, Pique, Caceres, Alves. We can absorb injuries and not get too far off song.
Also like Pique and Caceres, the word on Henrique is that he's fast. So many problems arose because of our relatively slow back line not having the pace to get back into position on counters, forcing Abidal to do stupid stuff, then everybody winds up out of position, and the mess began.
