Eto'o will make a decision soon

Asked about his situation, Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (27) has said to journalist during a charity event in Kenya that he is yet to take a decision on his future but seemed to suggest he will leave this summer:

" I don't have much left to prove with Barcelona. The first two seasons, we won everything, but the last two have been difficult cause of injuries. Now I'm waiting to see which possibilities I will have and then I'll decide as soon as possible if I will look for another club or if I will stay in Barcelona. I know I have some value on the market, so later this summer we'll sit down and talk with the officials of the club to avoid an uncomfortable situation. But it won't be the club who will decide my future."

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that both Chelsea and Arsenal have asked for Eto'o while meeting Barcelona sports vice president Marc Ingla in London last Friday. With Chelsea the difference between what the English club is offering and what Barcelona is asking is still very big.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, who already wanted to sign Eto'o when the striker played for Mallorca and who has a good personal relationship with the player, seems to have some worries about the physical conditions of Eto'o, who had two serious injuries over the last two seasons.

Asked about some rumours linking the player with a move to Arsenal, Eto'o agent José María Mesalles denied last weekend in an interview with British sports site Setanta Sports that the striker has been in London last week to undergo a medical: "Saying Eto’o had a medical at Arsenal is totally wrong, there’s strictly nothing."

With the two Milanese clubs following the events from a distance, Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo thinks it's most likely that Eto'o will end up playing for Chelsea.

Madrid sports tabloid As claims that AC Milan officials will come to Barcelona this week wanting to close a deal soon. Eto'o would know about the interest of the Italian club and wouldn't be opposed to a move if they are willing to pay a year salary of 9 million euro.

Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that Barcelona is already negotiating a transfer with both Inter and AC Milan, asking 50 million euro° to Inter and 40 million euro° to Milan.

Eto'o would be upset about not knowing anything of those negotiations but above all about the declarations of Guardiola last week excluding him for next season (read more here). The Cameroonian striker would be willing to present himself for the first training session of the season and is also considering to give a press conference before that date.
