Pique could return

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Manchester United central defender Gerard Piqué (21) is on the list of Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain (read more here).

Barcelona already followed the player closely when he was loaned out to Zaragoza last season and thinks the player, who left the Barcelona youth academy in 2004, is making progress and could become a great central defender if he gets the chance to prove himself. The contract of Piqué, who would be ready to return to Barcelona, expires in 2009 and the player already rejected two renewal offers by Manchester United.
