Barcelona sightseeing for Van der Vaart

Catalan radio station Ona FM reclaims - like it already did in the beginning of February - that Barcelona is negotiating with Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart (25). The talks would have entered a new phase and as a last step before a possible transfer, Van der Vaart is expected to visit the city of Barcelona together with his family in the coming weeks.

The arrival of the Dutch international could mean that Barcelona and Portuguese national team midfielder Deco (30) would not be able to continue.

He sure loves the Spanish competition (has some family tie with the country). Was very disappointed when his transfer to Valencia didn't go through last summer, so don't think that Hamburg could hold him from leaving a second time.

Vaart is surely pure quality. He is scoring lot of goals and this type of midfielder we need...but on the other hand he is very often injured. I would prefer Diego.

I would prefer Luka Modric.

out of all the offensive midfielders linked with Barca he is the best IMO, I just wish it didn't have to be a trade off.The fact that he's injury prone stresses the fact that we need one more attacking midfielder. Here's hoping Barca sign VDV and retain the services of Barca's Potugese Legend Anderson"deco" Desuza

I haven't really liked Van der Vaart playing for Holland, it seemed he couldn't fit in the 4-3-3, so don't know. But he is having a great time in Hamburg, probably ready to make the step to a real European top club.
