Asked about the transfer of the player to Barcelona, Sevilla president José María del Nido confirmed to journalists that a deal on Sevilla right back defender and Brazilian international Daniel Alves (25) has been reached between the clubs:
"There is indeed a verbal principal agreement but we still have to put it down on paper before we make it official. I hope there won't be any problems. Alves will be the most expensive defender in the world. Sevilla will make a great sale and Barcelona will make a great acquisition."

Del Nido must be feverishly plotting for another 2mil from Barcelona for the rights to Alves' signature.
