Bid for Schalke right back Rafinha

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona has made a first bid for Schalke 04 right back defender Rafinha (23).

Marcos Malaquías, the agent of both Rafinha and Barcelona player Henrique, met with Barcelona oficials yesterday before travelling to Germany to discuss a transfer of Rafinha with Schalka 04 board members.

While Barcelona reportedly made an offer of 4 million euros°, the German Bundesliga club would be asking a transfer fee of 10 million euros° for Rafinha, who isn't comfortable at Schalke anymore after an incident regarding the player's participation in last year's Olympic games, and would be delighted to join Barcelona. The contract of Rafinha expires in the summer of 2011.

He's 23 Pep. would turn 24 this september

Changed that, Andréssibraviqué, thanks!

He's too good (and too expensive) to sit on the bench and not good enough to be a starter. I prefer a centre-back and Puyol helping out at the right.

We got Maxwell for 5m and every body was like Oh!What a bargain! Now if a young Rafinha if coming for like 6m, he's become expensive for a back-up! Strange that our guys were so happy to invest 8-10 for Eboue. But having said that I'd love to go for César Azpilicueta for say around 8-10m + Jeffren on loan.

Rafinha is an excellent player! Even for 7m, he'd still be a decent signing!

Schalke would never ever let Rafinha leave. Even for 20 mio. So wake up guys!

You don't know the german mentality. I know because I am a german :-)

Okay, then we (or whoever) get him for free in 2011... ;)

Key question is: will Rafinha be happy to be Alves backup. He'll play 5-10 games in season at most? Don't think so.

And Alves doesn't like to sit on the bench. And physically he's so strong. So: back-up should be Puyol and not a real right back who won't get a lot of chances anyway.

Guess what guys,if we buy Rafinah,we could even play Dani Alves as a right winger. That would give us some width and something different in some games while Messi joins Ibra in the box.

César Azpilicueta would be perfect IMO

pls anony, nevr u curse or abuse bojan.just stick to ur own jeffren.we all like thae both, but we all know bojan is the best.plays on any wing and a current first team player since his 17 yrs of age.

Rafinha is a good player. He would certainly be playing more than 5-10 games considering Barca could end up playing 50-70 games (38 in Liga, Champs League, Spainish Cup etc. He could expect to play around 20-25 games.

If they want 10 milllion i dont think that is an unfair price. Good that we started with a low bid and will try to negotiate them down.

The people that attack others and say negative things on this blog are mostly anony's. They are too scared to put their name and hide like cowards behinds their mother's skirt.

Jeffren is already playing for the spanish youth teams, he will not play for venezuela.

Venezulea can't even qualify for WC.

Patria venezuelana said...

He wants to play for venezuela. YOuth teams don't count. Dos santos....pfff please that mexican suks just like marquez. Thiago suks dumb brazilian thinks hes a hotshot. Jeffren will be the next C. ROnaldo. Oh and honestly tell me one thing bojan does besides push the ball in after mesi or iniesta do 99.99% of the goal .......PLEEEASE!!

Oh the only good mexican player was HUGO SANCHEZ ala madrid!!

Btw,i feel sorry for Madridistas, shame on them. They don't even have their own blog.

barca4life said...

Jeffren will be the next quaresma or nani.

patria venezuelana said...

Whoa whoa hold on there kingwhatever that says. Im sparking a friendly debate whats with personal insults. =)
oh and dont insult my beautiful venezuela ........ check out GIancarlo maldonado at Xerez he will rip BArca a new one.

patria venezuelana said...

no no barca4life ( what name is that? yuck) Jeffren is more like a hybrid between C. ROnaldo, KAKA, Raul, robben, higuain, and messi.

barca4life said...

lol i said it when i first saw him and i'll say it again. Jeffren is exactly like quaresma. I like the kid and I hope he stays but he will never be a ronaldo or a kaka and from what i've heard he has the talent but lacks the right attitude and that is the biggest concern right now.

Etsp said...

You're joking right? Personal insults? Wow. He's trolling you guys, ignore him and he'll stop. Us Barcafans don't need to sink to the level of this Madridista.

Anonymous said...

Ridiculous how much attention barca fans are giving this "patria venezuelana". Don't you realize that attention from you guys is exactly what he wants? Every sane person would just ignore him and comment on the relevant topic about Rafinha.

a cb will be better than rafinha. its becuz pep will not promote the youth.we lack backup there. this season will be hard.

I really think Barca should buy Suarez from Ajax. Yesterday he played amazing in the play-offs and scored 4 times.

Anonymous said...

I actally agree with you that Jeffren is more promosing than Bojan and that we should give him more minutes or loan him out instead of selling him

Megano28 said...

if this fails we could go for tottenham's corluka. He is a beast(6'4) and would be perfect for a RB for us and could help us in set pieces along with Ibra, Pique, and Toure.

ifotbol said...

Rafinha would be an excellent player for that kind of money. However the german club won't sell him for that amount. Also I think that Puyol could be the replacement for Alvez and the money should go for a central defender or a midfielder.
