New bid for Adebayor being planned

British tabloid The Daily Star claims that Barcelona is planning a new bid for Arsenal forward and Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor (24).

Although Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger blocked a move last summer, the Frenchman could now be willing to let the Togolese player leave and replace him by Real Madrid forward Huntelaar.

Arsenal players Cesc and Van Persie are also expected to be summer targets for Barcelona (read more here) but Adebayor is first choice. Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola has been a long-time admirer of Adebayor and with Eto’o and Henry possibly moving on this summer, the team will need a new striker. Arsenal could be willing to accept a bid of 22,5 million euro°.

This is the issue with Barcelona, they always forget there best player when things are going good, if they have treat Eto’o well he would have been loyal to them, Adebayor is one of the weakest strikers in Europe he has been playing in Europe for maybe 5 years and the only time that he scored above 20 was last season, never reach 20 goals before last season, if Barca buys him I bet this is going to be waste of money, Barca style of playing is too fast for him and too technical

better invest that money into our academies, for example a 6-year old boy, whom already call "new Zidane"...

is this for real? why would madrid part with huntelaar in the 1st place and to let him go to arsenal?? lmao. only way they'll do that is if its a swap deal for cesc and wenger would die 1st before he lets his prized asset go. and no to adebayor, he sucks. lets give eto'o what he wants but renew him for like 2 yrs tops.

Well said Abdikarim, I totally agree with you.
Eto'o is one of the best strikers in the world at this moment along with Ibrahimovic and Torres. Unfortunately, he has been injured last 2 seasons and what has Barca won? NOTHING!
Without him this season, Barca would struggle much much more.
I hope he'll stay.

An absolutely useless, lazy player who misses goals from 6 inches away.

adebayor, the worst news ive heard since we tried to sign him last summer.

worst case scenario!
although 22,5 m isn't a lot. I think it will be much more!

He has bad discipline and doens't score goals. bad combination! even huntelaar is better!
Or dembele at least he's an attractive player to see!

Relax guys this is the Daily Star....there is nothing more unreliable than news coming from this paper. This is absolute rubbish, i can pretty much guarantee it.

Its a british tabloid the Daily Star. I'd start worrying when the catalan newspapers start talking about these stories.

This is god punishing the Eto'o haters. now they'll have to listen to Adebayor rumours for the next six mnths!

Even if etoo leaves we will move for david villa, not adebayor

lol at newspapers that post such rumors, barca had made a mistake when we were after ade this summer, and thank god we didnt sign him, also i think laporta thanks god we didnt sign him

ZenI said...

No, no, no!
I mean, he's not a bad player. He fits well in Blackburn, Portsmouth or maybe Newcastle. But hey, not to take Etoo's place if he leaves?
I'm tired af all the tabloids writing shit just to get somebody to read their paper. And I don't want to hear anything more about Yaya and Arsenal! We should get Fabregas and then make a deal to never buy or sell any player from or to Arsenal ever, ever agin!

pato is a better option because he is fast, scores, is a two-footed player, is able to play on wing or as striker, and provides good crosses

Get ready for the rumours to kick in kids. Next week it will be Trez, then Benzema again, Villa yada yada yada. Just re sign Eto'o and all of this crap will go away. Adey is useless. He carries on like a little baby. I would rather see Bojan promoted than have that clown in our team.

I understand that Guardiola want a tall CF that can score with the head in case the opponent start playing catanatcho-style and forming 2 chains of defenders in front their goal but is it really of such great importance?
Personally I think aplying this technique is effective but it's not Barça-style.
The way we do it now (and have done it before) has "authentic Barça" printed on it and is so much more atractive.
Just thinking of those days when Ronnie used to bedazzle the opponent with his magic give-and-go's..
Now that's Barça!

Adebayor isnt that bad when on top form, which he hasnt really been this season, if Guardiola buys him, then its Guardiola's fault if he fails, because as we can see, he's not invicible. I like Adebayor, but like others, I want to see someone who can live up to Barca style (top scorers in euro??), Villa, Aguero, even Benzema. However, in theory I do believe that Aguero would work very well and utilise Messi and Alves more then any other new face, judging by Arsenal, but hey.
For now, I do believe Barca need a left sided dribbler/playmaker, Silva or Ribery = a MUST.

Ribery,Silva,Villa,Aguero.
I was impressed by Tevez-Messi Partnership for Argentina against France

OMG V-Lo, you're my clone!
That's exactly what I think! But what about Aguero on the left wing and Benzema centraly? Then we have two messis on the wings. Think that our opponents would get confused?!
I know, impossible for several reasons to get them both. Anyway, I think that Ribery would do a better job then Silva. I mean, if we would get Silva, I wouldn't complain. But Ribery is the shizzle! And I would also want to see a bigger stronger CF that also is fast, technical and with good vision for the game. That only leaves us with two options: Benzema and Ibrahimovic...
