Youth players could be promoted to first team

Asked about his statements after the Gamper game that no youth players would be promoted (read more here), Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola has clarified his words at a press conference earlier today:

"If we don't sign new players, some of the youth players will stay with us. But it will be different compared to what we did last year with those players.

I didn't yet decide which players might stay. They are indeed inexperienced - because they are young - but they are ready. Iniesta and Xavi were also ready back in the days. We have quality players waiting to come through."

Looks like we will sign only Chyhrynskiy and stay put... What's with this obsession for star players man!? Don't these guys know there are many quality players out there, other than Fabregas, Mascherano, Mata & Ribery, who could be played right into our first team!? How would we be able to cope with the injuries with the highly injury prone henry & iniesta forming the heart of the team!? I don't know man, this is making me fucking restless :(

Anyway, now that we are almost not signing any body except Chyhrynskiy, I hope we at least get Jonas Gutierrez. For 5m or some thing for which he would be available, he could prove to be a nice bargain. Time for Muniesa, Fontas, Thiago, JDS, Bojan & Pedro to kick some real ass and prove to the pessimistic dickheads like me that they are indeed decent back-ups for the champions

What does he mean "IT will be different compared to last year" ?? I dont get it?

Last year the fringe players except Pedro & Busquets were played only after we won every thing. Other than that he used only Pedrito & Busquets for rotation. While this time expect more of the rotation with the kids, since there is no Hleb & Caceras and Pep is not confident in Henrique

He means we shoulnt expect to win anything this year, because of Txixis incompetence

@blaugrana1

I think he refers to those players (Pedro and Victor Sanchez) training with the first team and playing with the second team.

in my opinion he means that whoever gets promoted this year will get more playing time than the ones last year

i don't like this quality of guardiola for this, he always leaves things half answered and keeps the fans and the media in confusion. I don't know if he does it wantedly or without knowing but he it irritates me sometime that i don't exactly know what it means...

The kid are ready but inexperienced. However, playing is the only way to get experience so it Barcelona can't get any players they can play in "Copa del Rey" or in some league games. I think that for Champions only the regular players should play with some of them coming up for games already decided.
