What do you think Pep
Will Barca sign Silva
If he signs I think that we would be unstoppable next season
i really hope this silva saga is wrapped up today or tomorrow because we need to know whats going on i hope we get him for reasons stated before but more importantly i hope we just sort this out quickly. hleb (my prefered choice if dont get silva)/ iniesta/ pedro/jeffren etc need to know if they are going to be playing in this position as the season begins soon. if they dont get silva i think they we notice the lack of genuine LW player throughtout the season
GET SILVA AND LETS ROCK!!!
Well silva will be a great addition specialy on the long term, but if barca didnt get it, i dont think there will be a gap...iniesta/hleb combination can deal with this. but i really hope barca get him, first because he is a great assit, and secondly that transfer may help Valencia to satisfy vila financially to stay...the worst senario will be that silva stay in valancia, and vila go to madrid..
K-1. Pep already answered that in several other posts:) So please look it up. He also made a big post/news today where he told what he meant and felt/thought about the current situation. It's called pep's opinion about eto'o and the new larsson, or something close to it:)
Ok, my fault then
Pep,what a great piece about eto'o and henry. I couldnt agree with you more. I, as a BarcaGooner unfortunately cant see how henry will adapt to the LFP and Barca, unless he sorts himself out on a personal level and on the pitch. Great Blog pep.
Forget Silva....NEVES, NEVES, NEVES!!!!! He scored an amazing goal for Brazil last week and he just added two more goals in the game against China being played now. He would cost half of what Silva would, he has a lot more potential and he scores a lot more goals than Silva. I remember reading a while back that we were linked to him. Pep do you know if there was any truth to this or was it just the usual nonsense coming from the press??
any link for the game?? thanx!!
The guy above me has said it all!! NEVES should be the one we go after, Silva is great and can maintain posession but i havent seen him score, NEVES just scored twice!!!!!!! what an awesome freekick too! he should be looked at if not this season then definitely next...
I agree with nickr. Neves sounds like a pretty solid investment.
Pep, once again, this blog is the best!
I've got a few questions for you that haven't got to do with today's post, but I hope you'll be able to answer them...
1. Who acutally owns FC Barcelona? How is the ownership organized?
2. How many players will be in Barca's A team this season?
Thank you very much.
No highlights of the Brazil game just yet, it literally just finished....but here is a clip of Neves:

I maybe can give an answer on your questions:
1. Barcelona dont have a owner but a president. The president will be chosen every 4 years. The Fans will choose the president.
2. If the squad stays as it is now, and all the youngsters will be promoted there will be 26 First team players.
Anonymous, to answer your questions...
1. Barca is one of the few big clubs remaining that is actually owned by the club members. Most English clubs, for example, are owned by individual businessmen or investment partners/firms. Barca fans, when they buy a club membership, buy into the team and actually become a club member and owner. The members then elect their leaders, and the Board then runs the club affairs; however, the Board does not own the club. Hence, much of the pride about the club being an embodiment of democracy. The club currently has over 150,000 club members/owners.
2. I believe the club currently has 31 players. In addition to the regular first team, Guardiola has decided to keep five youth players with the first team for the start of the season. Those players are Jeffren, Pedrito, Victor Sanchez, Victor Vazquez, and Sergi Busquets. Of course, he might trim that down in the future, but for the moment, I believe that is the A team. Hope that helps.
Well i was one of those who considered Neves as a perfect compromise between expensive Silva and risky Arshavine...but I think we had to snap the deal before olympics...I am sure he will be more expensive now.
the only concern is that a player from south america (almost)never succeeded coming directly to barca...Maxi lopez is one of the most recent examples, he was hailed as the new batistuta in argentina...requilme the new maradona...even in other big teams, Gago the new rodendo, that young argentinianguy who signed to valancia as DM(forgot the name:) and so on....I thing the best for such players is to more to portogal then spain...
Watch Neves' goals here:

and sorry for my bad typing hehehe
I was thinking: "who was rodendo, never saw him play, ramzi must be a really old guy..." ;)
Anony...u need to sorrect my text typing mistakes then read it hehehe
remember that everytime i post something hehe
c?correct not sorrect:P
fcb-fitz, thank you very much for your answer. So, if I'm not from Spain, can I become an "owner" ? How much does the membership cost per year? And how does one get it?
Thanks.
Yes, you can join even if you're not from Spain. I am an American member, for example. The application link from the Official club website is https://altes.fcbarcelona.com/en/default.asp. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was like $150 or something to join. You get a nice gift pack with some club goodies, and you also get discounts on just about anything you buy from the club (jerseys, subscription to Barca TV Online, tickets, etc.). Not a bad setup.
If I pay 150 euros for a membership this year, do I have to pay another 150 euros next year to renew my membership or is it a one-time fee.
It's a yearly fee. I just received my membership package in the mail :D
Kxevin is the only idiot saying negative things about this superstar Eto. Everyone has realized the key role and the importance of Eto as the best 9 in the world. I am not surprised that you are blind. Barsa has made the best decision to keep him. After all the site is free and any shit can write some shit
Hey man if you are going to call someone an idiot can you at least spell Barca correctly?
Let's not ruin the good spirit in this blog. So please keep the tone guys:) For everyones sake.
It would be a shame to see this blog/forum to end like a lot of other forums where people argue and call each other names.
Of course we can discus but keep it on a neutral level. And respect that people can have another opinion that yourself.
Very well said Iniestar, let's not lose the excellent vibe of this forum... quality name there too, mate!
I have been keen on the Neves option for a while. He's a bit taller and has a good shot. As someone noted here a month or so ago, he'd also be more likely to accept being rotated in and out of the team than some others and would therefore presumably be less likely to disrupt team harmony if (as we all hope) there aren't many injuries.
I just hope the Olympics doesn't increase his price too much or attract too much attention from some other already interested big European teams.
Thanks:) Iniesta is one of my favorites. Not that he is a super star, he just a stabil and a big workload player.
I'm afraid that Neves would be like Arshavin, meaning the club will demand a lot more than they asked before those turnaments. But who can blame them. Let's see. Around 2 weeks more to the transfer window.
I agree with you guys, I just think Kxevin is very thorough with his explanations to his opinions so doesn't merit being called an idiot. But I agree with keeping the positive vibes on this page :)
