surely if we buy 3 players from sevilla, two by buyout clause the relationship between the two clubs will be irreconsilable. the only advantage capel has is that he is tried and tested in la liga, i neverhave been that keen on arsharvin as i think LFW snt his natural position, which leaves neves.
i'm probably just getting caught up in all the media hype but he seems the most exciting player, and being compared with stoichkov does him no harm either! does any one no what the problems mentioned are?
would still like barca to go for ryan babel but guess its not going to happen.if they buy a player or not looking forward to watching pep and the boys play.

as about Neves of course his nighlife will become an issue for the club after all he is Brazilian. they are all the same like fuckin gispys. incredible what kind of people are they. dont get me wrong i wont put all of the in the same bag buut we have Dinho, Adriano, and now it seems robinho cmoon this is becoming ridicioulus and now Neves. and a lot more i guess. they should take Rivaldo as an example of a perfect football player

cheers to yal

Dont forget to include Ronaldo in the list of partying Brazilians. IT is clear that the Brazilians like to party, but does that mean that we dont buy anymore Brazilians?!?! They are the most gifted footballers on the planet, lets not forget the 3 unbelievable seasons Ronaldinho had before the partying caught up with him! He has always loved to party and in a way that is what made him so unique on the pitch.

rivaldo was not a very popular player with the socio's.Why? because he's not as colourfull as ronnie. don't get me wrong, I adored rivo.Babel? No, no,no he doesn't even have a fixed spot with liverpool. dembele is better than him! I would like capel. He did great things against barça last year. Neves doesn't strike me as a LW. Though 12m isn't very much. 16m neither for a quality spanish player of 20y old

You can watch the arg-bra game at www.svt.se/os i belive. It is the swedish national television that broadcast it, so you don't have to download anything. By the way, i think the criticsism of brazilian players are a bit harsh. Saying that all brazilians are gypsis is a violation that does not belong in a forum of this caliber. If i want to reed that kind of immature utterings i would look for some other site. Let's keep the comment's at a fairly civilized level...

At 12M € for Neves I think that we shouldn't event discuss this matter. He is 10 cm taller than Capel and provides a goalscoring threat, something that Capel lacks. Moreover, technically, those two players cannot even be compared - Thiago would bring back Brazilian attacking flair to Barca's team that is missing after Ronaldinho's departure. If this 12M € is real price then I really don't see any reason why Neves wouldn't be purchased. I agree that he is a gamble, since his experience in top league is very slim but at that price and potential, he is worth a shot.
Considering other options, I am surprised that Barca didn't pay any attention to a excellent young forward who can easily take both roles (Left Winger and Striker). I am talking about Lukas Podolski and I am sure that he would be a true hit in Barca's team. Tall, technical, not so lightning fast but very accurate and knows how to hold a ball. Most important, he has a natural goal-scoring instinct. Unfortunately, it is clear that now it's too late to obtain that transfer.

To the person who sent a comment below my previous comment: Show some respect mate, this is a blog for Barca news, not a web for people picking on words that other people use in their comments.

I agree not to pick on brazilians because they deliver great players. if they have an attitude problem you can always sell them for the right price. think about all the money on ronnie we've missed!

Buy the Brazilian! Brazilians are the best and Neves is the best option for us as of now!

Damn right they have questions about his character. If you watched the Brazil-Argentina game you will have seen the red card Neves got in the 85th minute. Worst possible thing he could have done. Three goals and a man down and he hacks down a player from behind in their defensive half. Extremely immature and unprofessional, I'm not sure i want him at barcelona anymore.

Chill with the Neves talk. He is not really a LW and he is not what we need. Sure he may be cheapp but so what? Have you seen what he does in the Olympics besides shoot every chance he gets? He does nothing. Nothing special, nothing to warrant all of you guys' praises.

Arshavin costs too much, Neves is another "headache" the club doesn't need and Capel probably won't come as easily as it may seem.

Of the three choices Capel still seems the most likely. Del Nido can whine and b*tch all he wants but if Barcelona are willing to pay Capel's buyout clause there's little he can do to stop it.

That's how the business works and it's really HIS fault for not working a greater buyout clause into Capel's contract in the first place. So he has only himself to blame.

It's not like Barcelona would be "stealing" Capel either. If the buyout clause is met and not a penny less what grounds does Del Nido have to appeal? He may not like the fact that Barcelona have the resources (money) that Sevilla doesn't have, but that's life and Del Nido should be smart enough to realize that by now.

And as far as irreconcilable differences keep in mind that Del Nido raped us in the Alves signing. So, no, I don't feel "sorry" for him nor should anyone else. He will extort as much money as he can for his players, and rightfully so. But no amount of "hardball" is going to stop another team from meeting a player's buyout clause and securing that player as long as the player is receptive and eager to join another club. Sure, Capel can turn down Barcelona's offer if he so chooses but it's not like Del Nido can just step in and block such a move because he's opposed to it. He can try his best to convince Capel to stay and that's about it. The rest is out of his hands.

meeen, sincerely am changing my view on neves,i actually didnt know him that much but if its true that he has some bad character,i think we should stick with capel,

i hope DE NIDO will not be angry taking 3 of his players in a single transfer window.

Anonymous said...

why do you care what del nido does and what will our relantionship with sevilla will be?really del nido is the most greedy president in the world and wants to get huge amount of money for every player, think of alves the first year he rejected a chelsea bid at 30mil and the 2nd year we paid alot to get him, heck getting capel at 15mil serves him right, and i would love to buy him just to get on his nerves

Neves was a substitute against Argenitna today. He entered after 60 minutes an had to leave with a red card five minutes before the end or something.

Anonymous said...

yes u r right!!!! who cares what greedy DEL NIDO thinks!!!

The only Great opportunity to boost LW was Sliva (btw do any of the ones who will reply on this, watched Valencia-Real madrid?) and barcelona missed the chance of signing him, not because he agreed to stay with valancia, but because they failed to offer the deal that would make valancia sell him...
If they pay 20M for arshavine then that will show what i mean when i say they missed a chance, because for less than 25M valancia would sell.
Now I dont care if anyone come or not, its all risky and uncertain, time will tell if it will work or not, because now its not a matter of common sense anymore, but a gamble of destiny.

Capel just plain doesn't fit the bill for our left wing. he's fast, yes, and has a good cross; but he's not a particularly efficient passer and not good at penetrating much beyond very wide left. furthermore, he doesn't score goals (less than 1 in every 12 matches is worse than Silva!).

if we picked up Berbatov i might be able to see how Capel's talents could be used; the Bulgarian's head would be sore from all the crosses put in by Capel on the left and Dani Alves on the right. but right now we don't have any powerful attacking players in the air, and that's about all Capel is useful for.

we're looking for a moderately goalscoring, penetrative, clever type for the left wing to complement Messi on the right, who can also track back on the wing and help Abidal when he inevitably flounders. that is simply not Diego Capel. nor is it Thiago Neves, who probably ruled himself out of the running with an absurd red card today against Argentina. the player that still best fits that description is Andrei Arshavin; the problem is just price.

Am i the only one who thinks that loaning out jeffren instead of growing him into the position of the LW is a bad idea? the kid is almost perfect for the position, and i use the term kid very loosely considering he's 20. I think he deserves the chance to prove himself. Capel's game doesnt suit our style. Neves yeah but the drawbacks are his tackling.

come on neves gets a red card in a game already lost and every one thinks he is now not a good option, at least it shows he's passionate about football, if we were 3-0 down to madrid and he came on and kicked the hell out of guti i'd love him!!
i dont buy all the brazilian party thing, and even if neves did come and was a star after the ronaldinho saga i think he would be kept on a short leash. best buy, cheaper, probably gonna be more talented and barca need an attacking brazilian!
