British tabloid The Daily Mail claims that Arsenal would be interested to sign Barcelona central defender Lilian Thuram (36), whose contract expires in June with Barcelona not planning a renewal. The French international is said to have a very close relationship with manager Arsène Wenger since their Monaco time in the early nineties. It is believed that Thuram could act as a mentor for the young Arsenal squad. In that perspective British newspaper The Daily Telegraph even claims Thuram would join Arsenal in a player-coach capacity.
