Madrid tabloid As claims that one of the Barcelona priorities for the summer is to bring in a right back since both Gianluca Zambrotta (31) and Oleguer Presas (28) would seem to be on their way out. Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm (24) is named as being the top candidate to fill in the right back position as of next season.

I think if Sevilla doesn't drop the price for Alves this could well be our man.
If Zambrotta (and Oleguer and Sylvinho) would leave you'd then have Lahm/Puyol at right back and Abidal/lahm at left back. Which is anyway somewhat short.
I still prefer Alves over Lahm.
I think they also look at the price. If you can get Lahm for something like 15 million euro (his contract ends in 2009,so if he doesn't renew Bayern will have to sell him if they want to get soemthing for him), then I think it's not wise to pay 35-40 million euro for Alves.
But of course a duo Alves-Messi on the right would scare every left wing player in the world.
