Italian football site Tuttomercatoweb claims that Barcelona is interested in Schalke 04 attacking midfielder and Croatian international Ivan Rakitić (20).
Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would be impressed with Rakitić and has asked the club to try to bring the player to Barcelona. The club would be preparing a 14 million euro° offer for January.

I'm from croatia and i think that rakitic isn't good enought for barca...i think that are only pure speculation.
I agree with Kiki (because I'm Croatian too).
This is an average player and he reached his peak by moving to Schalke. He can play at Bayern and the other B-quality teams, but giving 14M for him would be totally unnecessary. Anyway, I can't see where would he play. BTW, he's mid and at this moment I don't think Barca need another mid - it's just an Italian story because Juventus and Inter were interested in him and now they're trying to get him undercover-it's pathetic.
And if Barca really want a quality mid, it would be more reasonable to go for: -Giovinco, -Diego, -Moutinho, -Affelay.
P.S. I wouldn't get any Balkan boy at Barca (Croats, Serbs, Bulgarians...-no offence). Believe me, I know what I'm talking about.
I agree with HouseMD,I am from Macedonia and I totaly agree... Get Diego or Affelay. If FCB want to sell Yaya get Diego and Iniesta can play AML and in the center Keita/Busquets and Xavi and Diego! Unstopable formation. I am not conviced in Pedro abilities so we should bring Affelay he can play on the both wings! visca el barca
Yeah, with Keita, Hleb, Guddy, Xavi, Iniesta + (Messi/Yaya/Busquets) + all the youths, another midfielder is just what we need.. :P
The only positions i see suitable to fill/backup are goalie, left defender, left/right attacker.
If we want him is not for starter if he is ok with the 18th i will welcome him any day!! i do not think that he has "reached his peak by moving to Schalke" if he is treated well schalke will be just the step forward before a great team gets him.. I also think that schalke is a verry good team with young but unexperienst players with a lot of potentials..
