Asked if Lionel Messi stays the best player in the squad after the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola was clear at a press conference in San Francisco:
"Of course. Do I want more transfers? It would be pretentious to say that I'm not happy with what I have. Of course, we'll be competitive. 99 per cent of all coaches in the world would like to have a squad like this one.
We should try to stay modest and keep a good group spirit. We'll try to make the players see that they need their team-mates to get better. We know they have talent, but I want them to feel united. During the first game against los Angeles, the defense was to far away from the strikers. If they are closer, they need to do less efforts. IN Seattle, we recovered the good feeling."
