Barcelona monitoring Silva situation

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Valencia left winger and Spanish international David Silva (22) is still on Barcelona's transfer target list.

Although a transfer failed last summer with the player signing a renewal with his club, Barcelona sports director Txiki Begisitistain is still monitoring the situation of Silva. Because of the critical financial situation of Valencia, some of the club's star players could be put for sale in the near future.

Asked about the rumours linking him with a move to several European top clubs among which Barcelona, Silva has said in an interview with Valencia regional newspaper Las Provincias that, although he prefers to stay, everything will depend on the decision of the club: "Since I arrived here, I only want to think about Valencia. I've always been treated very good here and I'm happy.

I know what could happen if the financial situation of the club doesn't get better but I would be angry if I had to leave Valencia because of economic reasons. One doesn't want to leave his club in such a way. But those things happen in football, clubs can make that kind of decisions. I'm not thinking about what could happen though."

Somewhere between 20 and 25 million would do. Although I don't really think he's what we need.

I don't see him playing in midfield, so must be on the wing, but there we have Henry (who scores more than Silva) and Iniesta (who is a better version of Silva, except for Silva having a better shot), so I think we shouldn't spend on him.

Why we shouldn't go for Silva and we must go for Ribery. First Silva is more team player and he is for more pass and pass, pass... Yeah he has great individual skill and technic but... Ribery on the other hand is more explosive player who can give us another direction on the game, with his tiredless runs and great skill and his vision for pass! Altough the price for buyin' Ribery is twice as much for Silva but the quality that brings Ribery is twice bigger.. but that's my opinion! visca el barca!!

I think we should sign Ibrahimovic. It would be so nice watching him play alongside messi.

Not Ibrahimovic. Never-ever Ibrahimovic. I'd rather die.

I like Silva though. Would love to see him in a Barça-shirt.

what about the Valencia left-back Moretti ? He was impressive in the game against Villareal.

I think you mix up things a little bit.
Silva is a left winger with a naturely left fot.

Niether Villa, Kun aAuero or Ibrahimovic are. They are playing in the center and in this position Barca have almost too many players.

If guardiola wants someone to play on the left next season, why then to buy Ibra or Villa?
It is not their position.

Ribery fits well on the left and will give more power and not only thecnique. He is one of the best left wingers nowdays.

Yeah, you are obviously right about the position. But i still think Ibra would be marvelous in a team with so much possession as Barca has. We could need a strong but yet technically blessed player in the box.

In my oppinion Moretti is an extreamly bad option for the left back position. He is way to slow for that possition as he will get outrunned by numerous quick wingers in the league.

Silva in my opinion would be a good buy and he can play anywhere upfront in the foward line; but if we get him i see that as the end of Hleb because he adds more variation to our attack and not to mention we would also have another Spaniard in our squad.I still hope Barcelona get him for next season because he is a huge talent but i hope that his arrival doesn't halt the progress of giving Gai Assulin chances at the first team.
