Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona has contacted Arsenal to ask the club about the transfer fee of Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (22).
Arsenal would have informed Barcelona that they are willing to start negotiations for a fee of 45 million euro°. Barcelona would only be willing to offer 30 million euro°, which makes a transfer unlikely at this point.
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Arsenal will not let the asking price drop under 40 million euro.

40mil would be the expected price. I hope the board agrees to this. For a 22 y.o giving at least 8 full years of service would be great. He won't have to take time to fit in.

His salary too i think would be reasonable as he currently receives 100k/wk = 5mil/yr, so i think he'll get something in the region of 6-7.5mil at the most.
well I can't see how the timing of the transfer window can affect the price of a player of such caliber. Ronaldo was sold for 80 million euro and Kaka for 56 million euro in the beginning of the summer. are you suggesting that if we have approached them earlier the price would have droped? even if they hadn't sold Adebayor and Toure they would have still asked for a very similar fee for their main and only star. actually I find 45 very reasonable for him at this age, and being the captain of a big team. there are estimations for every player at every club based on his passing and shooting rates, games started, yellow and red cards, statue at the club etc..
sorry to say this, but this is not a video game where late transfers are more expensive than earlier.
Matta is not coming and he doesn't want to speak about it anymore. we have allready invested heavily on the right full back position last summer. Puyol should be enough to cover Alves, and if they both are injured in the same time Maxwell can step there, and if he is injured too, then we will look to the cantera. Cesc is a priority, Keita performances are definitely getting better with time but he is already 30, and Cesc is one player who will allow us to move Iniesta to the left while actually not losing so much of not pairing Iniesta and Xavi in the middle. this one signing can solve us many headaches. Jeffren, Thiagoo and Dos Santos are all 17 still, they can wait a little bit longer, they are not Messi, they won't add anything to us at 17, the very volatile performance of Bojan is enough evident.

We should keep Jeffren, and buy Cesc and Kompany, seeing Kompany could also help in rotating, and is perfect in the defense

this guy is the defensive midfleider we need...he is only 24y and 1,87mtr tall and value max.18mil...really sad our board never notice a players like this! instead they were hunting mascherano for 30mil! really sad!

Impressiv player, on youtube.. But you can't really mean that the club does not notice a player... how many scouts do you think barca have in italy? Do you think those scouts are not well educated in footboll? If the player is that good and fit the profile right, sure they will sign him, obvously that is not the case so there must be something wrong about him that we don't notice

Spending 45 mil on Cesc would be crazy. Thats nearly what Madrid spend on Kaka and Cesc will never be on his level. Why didnt we make a move for Diego before he was sold, he is much better than Cesc
Any team acquiring Cesc for less than 50 is a solid deal fellas.
