Gudjohnsen close to joining West Ham

London local newspaper Barking & Dagenham Recorder claims that Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (30), whose contract expires next year, is very close to joining West Ham United.

West Ham sports director Gianluca Nani and West Ham ceo Scott Duxbury would last weekend have persuaded Gudjohnsen, who was in London for the Wembley Cup, to return to the English Premier League next season. A deal is expected to be concluded in the coming days and could be signed by the end of the week.

Please Smari leave us. I don't want you here for another season. (It was too much already.)

barcelona is selling so much players and buying very little and this year we are playing for more trophies. I think we really need more depth in the squad. But I also think dat pep knows what he is doing he will promote promising youngsters

too many have too little appreciation for guddy. he's been under-utilized most his career at barca. to be fair, he's no longer a goal threat as he was back in the days, but he's neverless a solid backup in the midfield who understands the game barca plays, as was demonstrated in the preseason games, he was far ahead of most of the barca youth.

Hope we keep him. Barça is going to need every player they can scrape together.

I hope Guddy stays he's not the best but we really need depth in the midfield considering ANC. I mean if Guddy leaves what options will we have in January-Febuary?
