Barcelona is on Ribery's list

Asked about the club he would want to play for one day, Bayern Munich attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (25) mentioned Barcelona among his dream clubs in an interview with German sports magazine Kicker:

"I don't have a special preference. Bayern is also among the biggest and best clubs of the world. Of course there are clubs every player dreams of: Real Madrid and Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United. But at this moment I'm feeling good with Bayern, we'll se what will happen later."

He is the best LAM (Left Attacking Midfield) in the world and his style would be a delight to behold at Camp Nou. He should be our number 1 target ahead of David Silva and dare I say it KUN. As discussed in these forums we will also need a left sided defender to provide cover for Abidal. Ribery should be the highest priority in the summer.

Ribéry would be quite an exciting signing.

WE would be on every footballers' list espcially with our present form, Cesc call it "cinematic football". Who wouldnt want to identify with us? I love to have him, but Bayern would be mad to let him go.... and if they do, he would cost a fortune

He is not as good as the papers are writing in Germany. He is playing as a left wing attacker. Look at the statistics: goals and assists. He is playing good but not on world class level... not enough for barca.

Better take Benzema or Kun. Both could play that role on the left side and both are more dangerous than Ribery. Also Diego from Werder Bremen would be better because of his skills and his goals and assists.

@ comment above mine. I think you really don't understand football that well mate, you simply can't say those words about Ribery. He's world class for sure and he's playing at really high level. I would love him at Barca but we're a little bit late, should have signed him two seasons ago.

in the same interview he also stated "I certainly love Real Madrid because of their great tradition." (singeling them out for praise) so please forgive me for thinking that barca would be a second option (for him) for a team in la liga. a great player, but i'm still in favour of kun, or silva.

2 years too late.

If he was leaving i think he woulda cost 35-40 million euros. He said he is happy for now but in the future he would want to move. Maybe in 2 years time when henry is gone we can consider such a move.

When u see Chelsea there u know the guy is just looking for money. I think he is a player who likes a lot of space to move in so i dont think he will fit into the team. we already have to try so hard to create space for Messi. i think he is probably angling more for Real who will probably jump for him. Any idea on reactions from Madrid to this statement?

i'm from germany and i can say ribery isn't as good as everybody in german newspapers and tv told ya. only against teams like cottbus and stuff he played well. i think barca should get GERVINHO cause he has a future and is a better team player than overvalued ribery and he cost less money. (worst english ever seen ;))

And I'm the one from the fourth comment and I'm from Germany, too. And that's right what you say. Ribery is good but he's not performing at world class level against good teams in Germany. And don't forget... it's the german league. Nothing special. In Spain he would have much more trouble facing defenders who are playing versus R10, Messi & Co. since years. He is totally overrated. Diego would be much better for us.
