Youth: English clubs interested in Iago

Catalan sport paper Sport claims that Barcelona Juvenil A attacking midfielder Iago Falqué (18), who was told by Barcelona Atlètic coach Luis Enrique earlier this week that he's not part of his plans for next season (read more here), could be on his way to England.

Several English clubs are interested in a transfer and would have contacted the Spanish youth international, who participated in the two friendly games Barcelona Atlètic played so far this pre-season (read more here).

While Barcelona and the agency that represents Iago are holding talks on the future of the player, Iago is at this moment still training with the squad of Barcelona's second team.

i'm english and i hate the way the english clubs poach young talent from other clubs, especially us, just because none of the top premeirship clubs have a decent youth system tht can produce players for themselves. i think it was the palermo chairman(?) who said that they are 'pirates', which although comical is also quite true. ok we get young players from abroad but only about 15% of our academy, top english clubs should develop their own youth systems, like west ham, and stop stealing other teams players

I thought this guy was one of the big talents of the cantera...he was the best player on the EC -17. Why isnt he still not promoted? Please promote him and loan him out, before they get him!

Everyone can't stay, because everyone can't play. You fans know that too. We would all want to hold on to our youth talent and loan them out , but those lds have their own dreams too. they don't want to sit around and wait; in fact they can't. They have to prove themselves in this world. We would have to stop going for those high rated players which we fans like (.e. the Rnaldinhos, Decos, Henrys) and just play more youth. Bring them straight out the youth ranks into the first team. 'm pretty sure this won't happen. but Barca is to me the most efficient at doing this already. look at the talent we produce. And as for those who say we "stolen" talent from other coutries, i think we've given the chance of a lifetime to better themselves and learn correctly in true Barca tradition.

I believe the best thing right now for Iago Falque and Barcelona would be to loan him out to an english team for one year and then promote him to the first team next year.I understand that everyone can't make it to the first team right away but i beleive a loan deal is the best possible situation as not to lose one of our best youth products or if he decides to go include a buy back clause in the contract. The reason most english clubs come to other european countries and carry away youngsters is because they don't have alot of confidience in the own home grown talent and when you look at it most european countries youngsters are already proving themselves in european championships and thats why most english teams try to carry away other clubs youth products. If you look at it only certain english teams such as West Ham,Newcastle and Tottenham take the risk and give the english youngsters a chance why the premier league's big four mostly go for youngsters that are already proven themselves on the big stage already. But personally i would like to see Iago stay with Barcelona and if he can't i would give him a loan deal or include a buy back clause.Thats my opinion because i heard he is one of the best in the cantera system right now and i wouldn't like to lose him.Que mes un club.
