Barcelona preparing bid for AZ striker El Hamdaoui

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims, based on unconfirmed Spanish sources, that Barcelona is still interested in AZ Alkmaar forward Mounir El Hamdaoui (24) (read more here).

The interest could soon become concrete with Barcelona preparing a bid of 20 million euro° for the Dutch-Moroccan striker, who
is at this moment the leading goal scorer in the Dutch league with 14 goals out of 14 games.

Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad claims that Barcelona scouts are closely following El Hamdaoui and that there were again Spanish scouts present on Saturday to watch the player in the game against Feyenoord. AZ would have accepted that they won't be able to keep the striker if a serious offer comes in during the January tansfer window.

Asked about the rumours linking him to Barcelona, El Hamdaoui seemed to suggest in an interview with Dutch television channel Eredivisie Live that there has been contact: "I heard about the interest of Barcelona, yes. Although I won't tell here how or when I heard it. We'll see what will happen."

In an interview with Dutch television channel NOS, the striker said that he's now focusing on finishing the year with his club: "I'm only thinking about AZ at this moment. We still have two games to play before the winter break. That's what I'm focusing on."

GO AWAY!!! Bullocks!
Even if its true it isnt rocket science to understand that 20 million euro is waaaaay too expensive for someone who has never prooved himself on the highest level.
And besides, the seasons before this one he was absolutely rubbish, adding to that the low quality of the Dutch competition that amount of money is absolutely outrageous!

El Hamdaoui in a strike partnership with Henry, Eto'o or Messi...dont make me laugh!

i dont know the lad,i dont follow dutch soccer right now but i think we can get him cheap(az will give him for 12mill).if he is a good player i wont mind him coming ,he wont get a big salary ,he will be a sub most of times (until if he proves to be great),he can take the place ezquerro had last year,(we will also be more prepared in case eto gets injured,"goes to hit wood and touch red hehehehe")

but in the end i dont think we will make a bid, first the vice president said there will be no transfers in jan, also the dutch media are always saying transfer rumors for dutch first scorer(they were blabing for huntelaar for 2 years and he went to madrid now),also being first scorer in the dutch league doesnt say mutch,if it was premiership, serie a,la liga then its another thing

Why are we looking inyo buying players who have no profile of ability at all !! I thought the V.P. said we are not going for any buying or selling in the window season. If there's a need to buy, then i think we should only go for Arshavin only, its enough at this stage !!!!!

Aguero Cesc Benzema David Silva. Those are the only players in my opinion we should be considering spending big money on. Other than that let gai perdo jeffren and bojan get more opportunities

Regular crap rumours.

Just a rumour...

Benzema declared yesterday for white shirt from the capital of Spain (we all know their name).
So, I think Laporta will do everything he can to grab Cesc and Aguero. I hope that story could be true. If not, I would be happy to see Hamsik (Napoli) playing for Barca next season (if Cesc rejects Barca). Talking about strikers, I wouldn't mind to see Villa or Aguero.

i hope he signs for barcelona... i am a moroccan from holland and have been following el hamdaoui since the moment he became a proffesional ....

honestly i think he would fit in great in barcelona skillfull type of play... el hamdaoui is a very skillfull footballer, and i think he can adapt nicely to barca's way of playing....

I think he's better than huntelaar... huntelaar is a striker without any technical ability... while el hamdaoui is a footballer who has learned the trade on the streets...

I know that aquero and benzema are better known and higher rated, but i think this guy should get a chance... and i think he will grab it with both hands...
