Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona received in January an offer for left back Sylvinho Mendes (33). The technical staff refused the offer. Sylvinho, whose contract expires in June and probably won't be renewed, is said to be disappointed by the Barcelona attitude, because he could sign a contract for two and a half years with a salary that was higher then what he gets at this moment.

Sad for the guy, but we couldn't make take the risk. I wouldn't mind offering him a renewal for one or two more years though.
