Lyon president confirms Abidal interest

Asked about the rumours linking the player with a return to his former club (read more here), Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas admitted at a press conference that Lyon would like to re-sign Barcelona left back defender and French international Eric Abidal (28):

"Yes, I would like to bring him back. I was in Barcelona last week for a meeting with European clubs but at this moment there are circumstances at the club (note: he's probably refering to the vote of no confidence) that don't make a discussion easy."

Barca should give them Abidal and Crosas + some cash for Benzema. And they should buy Emanuelson from Ajax. he is a left back, plays very similar to Alves.

i agree with u dinao.that will be nice.

Agree with dinao as well. At worst we could play Sylvinho at LB with Caceres or a B team player as the backup.
Would solve the Number 9 problem as well.

I seriously doubt that Lyon is going to offer us the same amount of money,(€15m) for Abidal that we paid them for him last year.

I agree with the comments above. If I was Barcelona I would offer Abidal, Crosas and cash for Benzema. Barcelona should say, "It's a one time deal take it or leave it!" Aulas could still refuse, but I doubt he'll find a better offer out there.

Plus, if Barcelona got Benzema, Laporta's reign at the club would be a virtual lock! Who in their right mind would attempt to vote him out after such a coup? First Alves and now Benzema. How can you top that?! That's a hell of a lot better than what Real Madrid's done so far!

Great idea! That could save Laporta's ass. Maybe someone should send him mail! :)
