Ten Cate wants Gudjohnsen at Panathinaikos

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that former Barcelona assistant coach and newly appointed Panathinaikos manager Henk ten Cate (read more here) would like to bring Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (29) to Greece to strengthen his new team.


Gudjohnsen would nevertheless see a move to the Greek competition as a serious step back and wouldn't take a transfer into consideration. If Gudjohnsen leaves Barcelona this summer, a thing that is not certain, the player prefers to return to the English Premier League (read more here).

I think the guy loves the Barcelona life style too much. Why else would he be hesitating to return to the EPL?

Is is the Barcelona lifestyle or the wages that Barcelona are paying him that other clubs are hesitant to match? You might as well sell him to some second tier EPL club and get whatever you can for him. He's getting paid for collecting blisters on his ass at Barcelona.
