Position of Toure could change

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola is considering to change the position of Barcelona defensive midfielder Yaya Touré.

If Barcelona could sign another defensive midfielder this summer, Touré could move up one line and act as attacking midfielder in certain games. This would allow Barcelona to play with Andrés Iniesta on the left wing.

That was my suggestion! Although I still think Iniesta is better in Midfield and Barca needs a high scoring LW, this could be a good option in some games and just imagine a forward line of Iniesta-Ibra-Messi. Plus, Toure can help Pique and Zlatan to give opposition problems during set pieces.

IMO this would be a matter of tactical position. Iniesta in the AM/CM is telephatic w/ xavi. but when the tactics is needed for a big man and a good long shot from the midfield, who else other than the YAYA. :D

I have said this numerous times! Finally, Pep listens to me. :) Yaya, has such amazing offensive firepower and is a busbreaker with his great shooting and goalscoring threats from midfield. He is the best allround player in the world, a perfect box-to-box player. This is hidden too much when he plays defensive. Iniesta is amazing at the wings when he doesn't have so much defensive responsibilities as in central midfield. With Yaya at CM and Ibra, we have two offensive giants plus the three midgets, and they all have great technique.

It'll depend on the opposition and whether we're chasing a game. If not the current setup is too good to change. But we'll have a wealth of option defencisely and offensively with maxwell, abidal, yaya, messi, bojan, titi, ibra, iniesta rotating positions between them

The current setup includes Iniesta on the wings. Look at all the games we played him on the wings last season. He, and the team, did great as usual. Iniesta on the wings is nothing new. The difference is that we played Keita as CM and Yaya as DM. When Busi played, Yaya was on the bench, he didn't take the position of Keita or Iniesta. Now we are looking to play with two tanks in more offensive roles (Yaya, Ibra) together with the midgets. Then there is Maxwell as flank option on the left, which gives us bus-breaking (using flanks is very important against the bus). If we can buy Chygrynskij, then we have Rafa as option for DM, and Chygrynskij and Pique are great at set pieces, both of them have amazing jumping and scores many goals.

That could mean one thing...they want Macherano, not an expensive benchwarmer behind Toure because toure will not be a DM anymore so that leaves an expensive guy playing DM.

I don't understand this. Yaya is the best DM in the world, why move him?

Theres an old saying, if it aint broke, don't fix it!
