i haven't seen the game live but it's strange the catalan press said gai was a bit unfortunable, couldn't make plays and over here people say he was the best youngster.
Probably half of the voters didn't see the game too but heard gai is a big talent..:)

I totally agree with Jordy!

I was at the game and you could see Gai has talent (and probably lots of it), but Muniesa was the only one that could be dropped in first team tomorrow..

Gai & Jonathan play in attacking roles, so if they make a dribble, it's easier to notice.. But still, Muniesa was by far the best, absolutely flawless.

People here a lot about Gai & Jonathan and they vote for them.

i watched the game and clearly Gai wasent the best Muniesa was better than all of the youth players. Gai had some nice moves but Muniesa was like the leader of the team.

i knew someone would say what jordy said. its simple i thought gai played the best game from the youth why shouldnt my vote be like the others one?dont bash other people opinions m8

i saw the whole game . who should i choose muniesa?did you see a missed tackling he made that could cost us a goal? jonathan ? he was absent from all the marking ,he was only good infront and his only chance was a lob at the striker.

gai on the other side was moving the ball great, his first touch was amazing and he sliped throught the defenders alot of times,he was asking for the ball and pass it with 1 touch ,he wasnt a big threat but he wasnt a liability ,from all the players in (youth)gai was the only one that commited no mistakes, yes he wasnt what most people expect of him but other than that he was pretty solid.i dont care what the press says.

my second vote would go to montoya, and the third vote to rochina.

gai was good, but muniesa was solid and looked mature beyond his age. of course, i was up till two watching the game so i might be a bit befuddled, but i still think muniesa played much better than gai. gai tried hard, but he is just not as incisive as messi, the player he is compared to.

i reckon skanjos is talking about some other game because as far as i remember seeing in the totteham game gai did not do anything worth noticing and was always falling down whenever he got the ball, muniesa was absolutely superb and i can't believe hes just 17, except for 1 sliding tackle he missed(btw that did not cost us the goal go watch again and come skanjos) muniesa was flawless other wise...
jonathan was also superb his passing and movement was top notch...

People here love to hype up Gai as the next Messi. Some of whom had never seen him play up till the Tottenham game. He is far, far away from being a finished product and will continue to get pushed around for a long time. He doesn't have nearly the low center of gravity or strength that Messi has.

Muniesa also made some horrendous 'attempts' at tackles. But he seems to have a lot of confidence.

A couple of the young guys are ready for fringe play but nobody's ready to push into the first team like Busquets did last year.

the missed tackling "could cost us a goal"......learn to read.

there is too much hype for muniesa too,he wasnt that good in this game ,and defence was our liability at the 2nd half with henrique and muniesa not positioning themselves right and making mistakes.
muniesa will be a great player but needs expirience .the same can be said for gai.

gai in that game created alot of space and moved great.people compare him with messi is a fatal mistake.what do you expect him to play like messi from now?geez.ok lets compare muniesa to puyol .....

i hate the double standards some fans have.for me gai was solid in the first game and cant w8 for the 2nd game.

you must remember Busquets was 20 when he broke into the first team, and it actually was his first season with it. Gai has time to develop and those of you who remember how Messi played his first games with the first team can find similarities... Messi was just as 'rough' Gai is - abundant of talent but no productivity. Of course you all how that turned out...

To the topic - I couldn't see the game so i didn't vote, but I'm glad that the overall responses are positive

On 26 July 2008 nobody thought that Busquets would be with the first team two months later. You can't predict how the players will develop and what positons Guardiola will want to strenghten. Let's just wait and see...

I think all three had a good game. MY vote went to Jonathan.

I don't comment a lot but the stimulus that pushed me to comment is that a lot of you had confidence in muniesa; he is good but he has lack in strength and he is not powerful enough to play for the first team...
He made a first mistake when he missed a tackle and the second one is the responsibility of the goal he didn't cover the scorer. he was in the back watching .
So I vote first for gai then rochina, Montoya

First, let me say that all the youngsters impressed. It's great to have a group of youngsters that can play so well. But there's still a LOT of room for improvement for every player.

That said, I don't understand why Gai was voted as the player of the game. He showed some flashes and had some good touches, but overall, he didn't stand out. Gai has a lot of hype surrounding him so it's natural for people to focus on him and forget about the others. I'm sure if the hype didn't precede him then he wouldn't have won this poll.

For me, Jonathan, Rochina, and Muniesa were the players that really stood out in this game. Muniesa showed good confidence, Rochina showed some great skill and dribbles, and Jonathan had some excellent passing.
