Former Barcelona player Jari Litmanen (37) has last month been officially presented as new player of Finnish first division club Lahti.
The Finnish international, who played for English Premier League club Fulham from January until May of this year, signed a deal until the end of the year.
Arriving from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam in the summer of 1999, Jari Litmanen played two seasons for Barcelona. After a lot of injury problems, the attacking midfielder left in 2001 for Liverpool on a free transfer.

Barcelona talking with Miami FC on MLS franchise
Barcelona site Pelikano claims that Barcelona wants to cooperate with American club Miami FC in order to create a Barcelona sister team that participates in the Major League Soccer (MLS), the professional league in the United States and Canada (read more here).
Miami FC was founded in 2006 and is currently playing in the USL First Division, the American second football division behind Major League Soccer.
Last week Barcelona president Joan Laporta and new Barcelona general director Joan Oliver travelled to Miami where they would have held talks with Miami FC officials and several interested sponsors.
Although Barcelona hasn't yet officially confirmed the talks, the negotiations would develop positively and are backed by football event management company Traffic Sports, the owners of Miami FC. The project is also being supported by American television networks Gol TV and Univision and football equipment store Soccer Locker.
The plan is that the cooperation between the two clubs leads to a Miami based MLS team that would play its home games in the new Orange Bowl stadium that should be ready in 2011 and that would also be the home of the current Florida Marlins, a professional baseball team.

Because only six first team players were available today (Alves, Eto'o, Valdés, Pinto, Sylvinho and Víctor Sánchez), Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola called four players from Barcelona Atlètic to join the training session this morning: right back defender Córcoles (23), forward Nolito (21 - second picture), midfielder Longás (24) and left back defender Espasandín (23 - third picture, on the ball)

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola, who signed a two-year contract as Barcelona head coach back in June (read more here), refused to sign a three-year contract because that would have meant that Joan Laporta's successor as Barcelona president would be tied starting his term in 2010.
Then Barcelona sports vice president Marc Ingla offered Guardiola a three-year contract including a clause that obliged the new president to pay a fine of half a million euro if he wouldn't count on the manager for the 2010-2011 season.
Guardiola will earn this season a fixed salary of one million euro that could go up to four million euro through incentives based upon results.

Asked about the fact that last season's first choice goalkeeper Oier Olazábal (18) has been replaced at the start of the season by Rubén Miño (19 - picture), Barcelona Atlètic assistant coach Joan Barbarà has said to journalists that the staff is counting on both players:
"We're satisfied because with Rubén and Oier we have two very good goalkeepers. Miño is a player who has been promoted from the Juvenil A and who is very talented. But Oier is also a quality goalkeeper and he can return to the goal at each moment. We have a lot of confidence in both players. We don't have problems at that position, the two are working very hard and whoever will play will do great."
