Barcelona training in Monaco

On Thursday evening, Barcelona trained at the Louis II stadium in Monaco, where the team will later today play the European Super Cup game against Uefa Cup winners Shakhtar Donetsk.

First training session in San Francisco

Around 1,500 supporters turned up yesterday to watch Barcelona players train at the Kezar Stadium, former home of American football team San Francisco 49ers.

Barcelona training on set pieces

In their last training session ahead of the game against Los Angeles Galaxy, Barcelona spent yesterday an hour and a half working on tactics, with particular emphasis on defending set pieces.

Barca internationals return for medical tests

Catalan paper Sport reports that Barcelona internationals who enjoyed an extra week of vacation will soon rejoin the rest of the squad. Confederation Cup participants Carles Puyol (31), Xavi Hernandez (29), Gerard Pique (22), Sergi Busquets (21), Dani Alves (26) and Andres Iniesta (25), who is recovering from injury, are scheduled to carry out medical tests at 8:30 pm tonight at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despi.

Pique would have already returned early and trained by himself at the Ciutat Esportiva for the past week.

Sport also claims that Guardiola is scheduled to train with this group for the first time tomorrow at 9:30 am. The group would only conduct training today and tomorrow before joining their teammates in the United States on Wednesday.

First training of the season

Barcelona held today at 6:30 pm the first training session of the new 2009-2010 season. Márquez is still recovering from a knee injury, Maxwell and Henry trained apart from the group.







Medical tests to start pre-season

Yesterday and today, fifteen first team players underwent the medical tests that mark the start of the pre-season:

Valdés, Pinto, Jorquera, Márquez, Henrique, Cáceres, Abidal, Touré, Víctor Sánchez, Keita, Gudjohnsen, Hleb, Pedro, Henry, Bojan

Some players who took part in international games last month, have the authorization of the club to join next Monday. Maxwell already underwent the tests prior to his transfer.

The last hours before the game

Barcelona had a last training session yesterday evening at 8 pm at the Olympic stadium in Rome. Iniesta and Henry seemed to be able to train without any problems.

After having breakfast, the players hav been resting this morning. Lunch started around 1:30 pm, after Guardiola held a technical talk for half an hour.
