Barça B: Celtic Glasgow interested in Abraham

Scottish tabloid Sunday Mail claims that Celtic Glasgow is interested in Barcelona Atlètic midfielder Abraham González (23), who joined Barcelona B in the summer of 2007 and whose current contract expires at the end of this season.

The Scottish champions would be weighing up a move for Abraham after Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has scouted the Catalan player several times. Celtic midfielder Marc Crosas would also have given a positive report about his former team-mate.

Abraham's agent is quoted by the tabloid as saying that all future options are open: "We can negotiate with any club but are staying calm. Spanish and foreign teams are interested in Abraham. We have not received a firm offer but he is ready to move if the deal is right."

Agent Sylvinho leaves door open for Celtic move

Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona left back defender Sylvinho (34) with a move to Celtic Glasgow in January (read more here), the player's agent Hans Lamberz has said in an interview with Scottish tabloid Sunday Mail that Celtic's elimination in the Champions League won't have an effect on the player's decision:

"Sylvinho won't make his mind up on a move to Celtic or wherever else based on one result or one poor season. Celtic still hold huge appeal because they are a famous name, regularly win the title and almost always compete in the Champions League. They have great support and are a big club.

One game doesn't change this. They may not be in Europe after Christmas but that doesn't mean the same will happen next year and Sylvinho's decision will be based on not just sporting but personal factors too. If Celtic are interested it will be an exciting option.

Sylvinho is likely to stay at Barcelona until his deal expires in the summer. Moving to a new country and culture in January can be a big step. The weather is different and pitches aren't great. But if he does leave he will be fit enough for the highest level. He could play until he is 40. He doesn't drink, smoke or mess about with women."

Deal with Celtic on Crosas

Scottish tabloid Sunday Mail claims that Celtic Glasgow is on the verge of signing Barcelona midfielder Marc Crosas (20) after the two clubs reached an agreement on a 2,5 million euro° deal.

Crosas' representatives would fly to Glasgow in the coming hours to discuss personal terms. Crosas, who played on loan with Olympique Lyon during the first half of this year and who was also wanted by Sevilla, Sporting Gijon and Sampdoria, hopes to sign a three-year contract within the next 72 hours.

Barcelona would have preferred to loan the player to Celtic but Crosas held direct talks with club officials and urged them to let him move on a permanent transfer. The excellent working relationship built up at boardroom level in the past years between Celtic and Barcelona also helped seal the deal.
