Barcelona Atletic attacking midfielder Thiago Alcantara (18) and defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu (17) will represent Spain at the Under-19 European Championship starting today, July 21st. Both players would have already been training with the team since July 6th. Neither player would therefore join the first team in England for the pre-season Wembley cup.
Spain's first group match against Turkey is scheduled for today. Spain is in group B along with Turkey, Serbia and France.
Other players representing Spain U-19 include former Barcelona youth players Fran Merida (19) and Iago Falque (19) who now play club football for Arsenal and Juventus respectively.

its weird why do spain steal players of other nationalities and make them play for spain. like senna and thiago and pernia. theres enough talent in spain so give them a chance instead of stealing of players of other nationalities.
Senna and Pernia didn't get chances at their original countries anyway. And Thiago can still play for Brazil.
Hope he plays for Spain,though.
i hope thiago plays for brazil, i love brazil and argentina n dont want their talents stolen n made toi play for some other country.
