New players for a new system?

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that, although new Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola will not stick to one way of playing, the basic system will be 4-3-1-2.

With Dani Alves being able to cover the whole right wing, Messi would move to a more central position, with someone on the left (which could be Iniesta) and a strong centre forward who can play with his back to the opposite goal, can deal with Alves' centres and with the passes inside by Messi.

For that centre forward position, Adebayor would be the absolute priority and Guardiola wouldn't even see another option available on the market. If a transfer of Adebayor is not possible, Guardiola would put Henry as centre forward and would transfer a back-up for the centre forward position (which could be Mario Goméz) and sign a real winger (like Van Persie or Malouda).

My ideal world. Goals would rain from the heavens, with Alves and Keita pushing up, Messi doing his thing and the dual centre forwards terrorizing the box.

I happened to notice the omission of Iniesta's name in a couple of the above "ideal", hypothetical formations. Does this mean he is the "odd man out"? Iniesta seems to me like a "vagabond" type player. In that he has no defined, set position. Yet his skills are undeniable. Then again it's no secret that Xavi and Iniesta don't partner well together. Perhaps this means that Iniesta would be Xavi's backup off the bench? even though I feel his game is more suited to playing higher up in midfield. Would like to know where you all feel Iniesta fits into the grand scheme of things?

I like Iniesta coming off the bench. He's erratic, and prone to disappearing for chunks of the match. A substitute's role would fit his energy patterns better, I think.

Ronnie,no motivation.whats the point of him staying to warm bench for another season???
If he can change off and on the pitch like what the coach said,i think he should stay then.If not,let him go.Though i thank him for all what he did for us and wish him good luck in football and party life.

If we sign Arshavin he would be a backup to Messi or Henry, he is good but not good enough to bench them. Anyway I think Abramovitj wants him at Chelsea and that is where he will go. My dream line-up with backups:

Valdés (Jorquera)
Alves (Puyol) - Marquez (Alex Silva) - Pique (Milito) - Sylvinho (Caceres)
Touré (Keita)
Xavi (Hernanes) - Iniesta (Thiago)
Messi (Arshavin)
Benzema (Pavlyuchenko) - Henry (Bojan)

Alex Silva, Henanes = 25 million
Arshavin = 15 million
Benzema = Abidal, Crosas, 30-40 million
Pavlyuchenko = ?

If Arshavin comes. Arshavin starts imo. He is 27 @ the peak of his powers and hungry for titles.

Well.. In Pep's "system" there will be one strong tall striker, that profile doesn't fit Arshavin. He could either play as the other striker where he will compete with Henry/Bojan and IMO he is not better then Henry or he could play in the free role behind and he's definatly not better then Messi so if he come and we use 2 strikers he's going to sit on the bench a lot.
