Speaking to journalists in Pasadena after the LA Galaxy vs Barcelona friendly game, Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber showed his satisfaction with the big attendance of the fans:
"It was a great night for American soccer. The game with Barcelona came about thanks to the club's special relationship with Major League Soccer. We are working with Barça on such areas as marketing and friendly matches. Thanks to our joint efforts, this game was able to go ahead.
I'm convinced that events like this can help with the promotion of soccer in this country. Part of it is creating connections and part of it is having a night when your team can be competitive and convincing a lot of fans that might be here to see Barcelona that the L.A. Galaxy can actually play."
