Mata offer to be presented tomorrow

Valencia regional newspaper Las Provincias claims that Juan Manuel Mata, the father and agent of Spanish international Juan Mata (21), will tomorrow present Valencia an offer of Barcelona.

Mata will tomorrow meet with Valencia offials to disccus the player's contract renewal and to analyse the offer of Barcelona. The agent would inform the club, on behalf of Barcelona, about a bid of 18 million euro°.

Asked about the rumours linking Mata with a move to Barcelona, Valencia sport director Fernando Gómez said yesterday in an interview with Valencia regional radio station Punto Radio that the club doesn't plan to let the Spanish winger go: "Mata is one of those players we cannot let go, he should stay with the team for some more years. And I think he will stay at Valencia. But we will listen to everybody and who knows someone will come with a scandalously scandalous offer.

The renewal talks are the responsibility of the board but I want to make clear that he already received an important pay rise. Like his contract stated, his initial salary of 600 000 euro plus incentives was raised from the moment he had played fifty games with us, something that happned last season. Now we will talk about raising the contract again a little, and I actually think that would be a logical thing after his recent performances."

If we sign him then Pedro or Jeffren has to go, and the one who stays won't play too much.

My opinion: don't sign him.

"scandalously scandalous "isnt valencia aware by now that no team is gonna make such an offer, and that the thing they did with villa and deportivo with filipe wont pass with barca.....
in the start of the rumors i thought it was for mata to have a raise of salary but now i can see a move happen.if it is true that his agent "Traffic" can buy him and then sell him to barcelona it will be much easier(i suppose we better talk with traffic than with greedy valencia).i really dont expect valencia to meet his demands now that he is wanted by so many clubs of higher status,if they cant raise his contract they should let him leave...

if we get mata then we can focus on a amc and we are done with transfers.

on the other hand shaktar is now disqualified ,any news on the chiotrhasdoirhjaspdja "it was easier typing this "

Don't sign midfielders, because we have dos Santos and Thiago. Don't sign defenders because we have Muniesa and Fontas. Don't sign attackers because we have Jeffren and Pedro. It is strange why Barcelona B didn't even manage promotion in the third division if all our youth players are so fantastic.

fot that fee he would be great

With Pedro, Jeffren, and Bojan all substitutes on the wings, what will we do with another one? Mata's an excellent player, yes. Can he play as an attacking midfielder? It's possible he might be a good sub for Iniesta.

pedro still lacks body and fighting spirit

bojan the body and power

jeffren lacks even more

Mata would be welcome

Juan Mata - Barca saga... I guess would be a replica of David Villa - Barca saga :(
Scandalously scandalous offer my foot. Wasn't Villa promised to be released this year if there was an offer from BIG clubs!?! Valencians are not going to keep their promises and would dig themselves deep into financial troubles by doing that. ASS HOLES

Of the mentioned by inieee, I see Bojan get the call more often ahead of Pedro even if Mata comes in. As Bojan is really designated to play CF, while for now covering for the wings, I can see Pep looking at Mata, Pedro and Bojan as covers for the 3 first-choice. Maybe Mata more LW, Pedro RW.

As for Jeffren, at 21, if Mata comes in, I hope he gets a loan deal, preferably to replace Mata at Valencia, may be for 2 seasons. I know he won't be the first-choice at least he won't be 4th choice or lower.

jeffren out
pedro is ok.
mata...don't we have other options but him?
i think afferai would be much better option for us,he can play mid and wing like iniesta.

I'm against signing Mata.

Henry has tops 1 or 2 good seasons left in him until he leaves to MLS. There is a chance that last season already was his last at the top level. Returning to pre-season training still injured was not really a good sign. It is possible, if not likely, that he will spend more time injured this season.

Barca needs a proven winger to cover left wing for upcoming long season, and not just another promising player like Mata, Barcelona already has those. Mata is good, but not good enough, at least yet.

Sign Silva or some other more proven player. Sure, they are more expensive, but it seems that money is not a subject this summer anyway...

Next summer Henry moves to MLS, Silva takes his crown as a left winger and some of Barca's promising youth covers him. Simple.

Is it me, or does the president of valencia prefer selling his players to madrid than to barca??

Every time we try to sign a valencia player, this whole thing turns into a saga which lasts for at least a couple of weeks...

He also refused to let Madrid have Villa, so that's no point. He just don't want to sell Villa, Silva and Mata, to whatever club.

I like to see Barça sign Mata but I'm NOT optimistic at all . The reason: Valencia's president and board are total dickheads !!

i rather spend an extra 15-18m to buy david silva who is a proven LW. would love silva at barca. but then again mata isnt bad

this is ridiculous to say that MATA is unproven.he had two very good seasons in a struggling team and last season he hs about 12 assists and 13 goals in league.does this mean that he is no good??
he can also play as a striker.
v must not read 2 much into pedro's and jeffren's pre-season form. They had just had 1 u-21 caap for spain. They are not even that good??
