Contract Jorquera to be rescinded this week

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that the contract of Barcelona goalkeeper Albert Jorquera (30), that expires next year, will be recinded this summer.

Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would want to continue with only two goalkeepers and has reportedly asked the club to put an end to the contract of the goalkeeper. Jorquera would leave Barcelona at the end of the US tour.

Jorquera would have been informed at the end of last season that the club wanted him to leave (read more here), but the Catalan player has nevertheless rejected all offers from Spanish first and second division clubs that his agent has been receiving over the past months.

we dont need more than 2 keepers,the 3rd choice should always be a youth keeper and we have 2 promising ones in mino and olazabal

good move, he was the only liability in our team even though he was just a third keeper but he was becoming a burden in the squad and was blocking 2 really promising youth players(especially mino)... but anyways thanks for your service over the years jorquera wish you the best in your life!

i say bring mino up this year, dont resign pinto, and have them both up by next year. two youth internationals, eventually one will be sold, and the more first team experience they have, the more they will be worth. IMO, olazabal has more potential, but mino is catalan, so he may get more chances

@BamaCule
no dude mino is anyday better than oier, that guy saved 3 or 4 penalties last year an astonishing stat and whenver he played the team conceded less than when oier played...

It's not because you stop some penlaties that you're a good keeper... Mino and Oier both aren't good enough to be first choice, they are more like Jorquera: eternal bench warmers.

I haven't seen them play but I hope one of them will one day be our starting goalie. We shouldn't make the same mistake we made with Reina. But I hate how we passed the chance to buy Asenjo for a few millions. He will be the best goalie soon. I think he is at Valdes' level rigt now and if he wouldn't start many games, we could loan him to another team like Sevilla or Atletico Madrid.

seriously what I think barcelona lacks is a great goalie like cech,buffon, or casillas. Valdes does a vital save once in a while, but he isn't good enough to be in a team like Barcelona imo.He is good but will never be great. Also while barcelona is at it, they should get rid of pinto too, he's old and terrible as a goalie. Every game he plays 100% ends up like with 2 goals conceded by him. we need better goalies.
