Eto'o agent denies exit bonus request

Asked about the transfer of Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o to Inter Milan, the player's agent Josep Maria Mesalles has confirmed to journalists at the El Prat airport that the player and Inter have a total deal:

"We've reached an agreement, everything is done. It's a 100 per cent deal with Inter, only depending on the medical tests now. I didn't have any conversation with Barça over the past days. We didn't ask for one euro. Everything said by the press were lies. We don't ask anything from Barça. We just want them to give the player his freedom so he can sign at Inter.

He will be presented in Milan at the beginning of next week. I think it will be on Monday or Tuesday, although Inter returns on Tuesday from the United States and I think that president Moratti comes back from a journey on Wednesday. The player cannot wait to start working with his new team-mates. Eto'o likes everything about his new club. Milan is a great city and Inter is an interesting new project for him. Samu has put everything on bringing a Champions League to Italy.

It's a painful moment but another stage is starting. Samu nevertheless would like to have the chance to say goodbye to the Barcelona fans. He only feel gratitude towards the club. In every family there are fights, but that's normal and both should be able to forget. For Eto'o, the exit has been hard because of what happened the last two years but we should remember the most positive moments."

"Poor" Eto'o. After being vilified and labelled as greedy etc. for allegedly asking for an exit fee and now, there's not one cent being asked.

Haters are daily life losers who think they're someone because they can say somethign bad about a star on the net... Those kind of people don't apologize.

Anyway: many thanks to Samu for helping to give the fans five wonderful years, the best in the history of the club!

If the title would have been "Agent asks for exit bonus", there would have been over 100 comments, for sure. But that's how it goes...

Who is this guy trying to fool ? It was ALWAYS about money for him and Eto'o. He is just trying to make his client look good . I'm 100% sure that Inter ended up paying the " exit bonus" that Eto'o wanted all along . There is no way that Eto'o or his agent will pass up a chance to make some extra cash !!

I wonder why the media has ALWAYS painted Eto'o as greedy. Is it just because he is black? While Ibrahamovich earned 13million per season, there was no problem abt it, but when Eto'o is to earn 10million, he is termed a greedy man with a high wage demand as if he doesn't deserve much more. What's wrong in being black?
Maybe Eto'o had a bad mouth 2 seasons ago but through out last season, he has been a very calm and well behaved player, yet the media uses the bad side of his past to paint him as the bad player. Unfortunately, football is not in the hands of the media. At first it was said that he asked for 25million for exit bonus and later 6million. I guess tomorrow it will be said that he doesnt deserve to be paid 10.5million

All those haters, taking their foot out of their mouth yet?
Anyhow BEST WISHES Samu, will be watching you at Inter for sure.

His agent denying an exit bonus doesn't mean it wasn't asked for. It might not have been granted but how can you trust Mesalles that it wasn't asked for?

Is Mesalles going to say "We asked Barcelona but they said no"?

The 'haters' always maintained that Barcelona should and would refuse any such request. It looks like they did. Anything the agent says is just agent talk/spin.
