Asked about the rumours linking Barcelona central defender and Uruguayan international Martín Cáceres (22) with a move to Juventus (read more here), the player's agent Daniel Fonseca has said in an interview with Italian television channel Sky Sport 24 that a deal between the player and the Italian club is close:
"With Juventus, we have almost reached an agreement. There are a few details left but it's basically a done deal. Now we should convince Barcelona. At the beginning, they didn't want him to leave because they paid so much for him last year, but now things are looking good. We're working on a loan move and I think we'll find the best solution very soon. My role is to make the player happy and he didn't get a chance at Barcelona so he wanted to leave."

We need to sign a CB!!!
don't sell!!!
Loan?
That's what I like to hear!!!
I am more than happy to see him leave on a loan as that will improve his chances of playing. But to sell him would be a huge mistake. He will improve and will be a terrific center back. At 22, he is still almost a baby when it comes to center backs. He has great potential and you can see that in his performances last season even though he was nervous and underperformed.
A loan to Juve would effectively be a sell as far as his Barca career goes. If he's to develop properly, he needs to stay in Spain. The calcio style is what his problem is. He needs to become a technical defender and Spain is the best place to do that. It was a very bad piece of business last year indeed if we are going to loan him to Juve after barely using him in year one.
Great loan caceres let him learn from chiellini and canavarro and come back a great player. Let them send poulsen in the other direction on loan for 1 season and we have a geat deal on our hands
Henrique Puyol Marquez Pique with Muniesa and abidal as backup at CB and yaya and busquets have played CB in emergency situations as well.
when his agent say loan i bet he means loan with a buy option, thats why they havent found an agreement yet,i bet barcelona is asking for at least 7-10 million fee next year and juve isnt willing to give such an amount.
Well, then Juventus can go and find themself another CB. Buy clause is out of the question as I see it.
Totally agree with KluivertsBoots: he needs to show that he can play in an attacking team like ours, not in a catenaccio team in Italy.
let him go on loand with a buyot option in around 25-30€ mill, Caceres can become good, really doog.
he needs to learn hove to ass the ball though...
Caceres is never going to come back if he goes on loan to Italy. This is certain. They play totally different from us, so we can not take him back. Hopefully we can recoup at least half of what we paid for him, in one of the worst transfer deals ever.
Great prospect but he needs playing time and i am the first among many who believe he will be great after a loan spell.Any objection,or opinion that differ?
slovan is everything you post a indirect attack on barcelona board. we get your point the board made a mistake but it's for us as barcelona fans to forgive and forget we cannot continue to dwell on stuff like this. they aren't super humans they are normal just like me and you, you make mistakes right!! of course you do so move on.
lawrenzo i think he should just sign a five year deal and leave barcelona. we want to sign another cb so if he comes back it's just back to what he was doing before.
honestly speaking i personally believe it's all madrista behind this spamming.they are jealous of popularity of this blog.please let us enjoy live discussion of this blog.don't ruin our fun just to full fill their evil wish
Marc4barca,i totally agree with you in a way, this guy lacks real confidence and i would prefer Muniesta on any day.
Selling him now would be waste...loan him so he gets experience
