Asked about the contract renewal of Barcelona central defender and Spanish international Carles Puyol (31) (read more here), Barcelona president Joan laport has said in an interview with Spanish radio station RNE that a deal is close:
"We have already met several times with the agent of 'Puyi' and the renewal will happen soon.
That's the wish of everyone involved and it's very clear to our captain that the coach counts on him and that the board is very proud to have a captain like Carles Puyol."
