Bodyguard of Messi is football hooligan

Argentinian sports paper Olé reports today that the bodyguard of Barcelona player Lionel Messi is a football hooligan.

The Argentinian football federation would have appointed Ariel Pugliese (picture below, behind Messi), better known under his nick name Gusano ("
Worm"), to act as bodyguard of Messi during his stay in Argentina ahead of the international game against Brazil next weekend.

Gusano would be one of the leaders of the ultras of Argentinian second division club Nueva Chicago, who has been linked with (although not yet accused of) the murder of Marcelo Cejas, a fan of a rival team, in 2007 and who has been involved in several acts of violence and financial fraud.

Argentina federation is a mess. First they appoint Maradona, who was a great player but an awful coach, and then this.

wth going on there?

Let's hope Messi does NOT suffer any injuries . Brazil-Argentina matches are renowned for their brutality and physical play !!

First Carles and the mafia guy, Now lio and The Worm....Is barca a setting for a thriller movie? What are the Argentine federation thinking? I mean im sure he is now well protected but at what cost?

Anony you are right these matches are brutal but I must say the the Argentinians are the ones who play dirty. I am not fan of either of them but Heinze, Mascherano and some others really don't deserve to play football. All they do is fouling.

I am worried about Messi. Everytime he goes to Argentina sh!t happens. Not by common people but by the ones who "take care of him". at first place Maradona, the guy who knows nothing about coaching even less managing World Class players like Messi. We ahve witnessed a lot of kidnapping in South America and we don't want so see Messi in trouble just because there are incompetent people in the federation

Messi's deity-like status pretty much renders him immune to these things you speak of. I believe he's also respected by his Brazilian neighbours as well.

just wondering, why is this guy wearing a jersey of austrian club lask of linz?

Because he's a big fan of them...LOL

I like the idea of having someone who will crack skulls for messi following him around at all times. Just for shear intimidation alone. Bring him to barcelona before the classico so if madrid get all foul happy again this guy can take care of business

.. nobody cares what this guy is doing at his freetime... when he is working to protect messi i think he will do his job as best as he can.. is he beats people because of his favorite footballclub its his problem ... i dont care about as long as he protects messi like himself...

bodyguard of messi or messi's bodyguard? please reply ;] why 2nd, but not 1st?

Messi won't get kidnapped because he is the one with money. If there are any plots, it's usually close family members that get kidnapped and then the star has to pay.

Messi may miss also Barca´s next league game vs Getafe because Argies play their second match on September 9th...

Most of the other players still have international duties on the 9th so of course he should play unless something happens.

I believe only the Africans Toure and Keita don't have duty on that day

HeyDude adn brazo

If it was your dad that had been killed, you wouldn't talk like that... As if there are no decent bodyguards who stick to the rules. But we all know that Argentinian football is corrupt and violent as hell.

Who cares..? As long as messi stays healthy I'm not worried

he looks like a new zealand rugby player. do you agree?

Who cares? We as a club don't want to be associated with murderers. We ttry to get the Boixos Nois out the stadium, you shouldn't let this wankers in through the backdoor.
