Madrid sports tabloid Marca claims that Manchester City has offered Barcelona right wing attacker and Argentinian international Lionel Messi (22) a blank cheque.
Knowing that Messi will negotiate a new contract with Barcelona this summer, the English Premier League club would have contacted the entourage of the player asking them to name a price.
A few months ago, during the January transfer window, Manchester City would already have tried to sign Messi by offering him 12 million euro net a year plus a bonus for his family. City was willing to pay the player's buyout clause of 150 million euro.
Messi rejected the offer back then and would have done the same now. The player is happy at Barcelona, where he can compete for all the trophies. In the coming days, Barcelona and Messi's representatives will start negotiations on the player's contract renewal, with Barcelona reportedly be willing to offer Messi a year salary of 10 million euro net.

Messi is truly loyal....now he deserves a statue
there's something you just cannot buy.
What the hell is wrong with Man C, They have signed some of the best players, and still trying to sign the most wonderful, most loyal player ever?! He's never going to leave Barça, except at old age for his home country maybe.
I hope we destroy Man City at the gamper for this cheap shot
My 2-Cents: WOW! Would Ronaldo do this? Kaka? A-Rod? Kobe? Shaq? LeBron? Terrell Owens? Is there another athlete out there that would turn down a blank check? I can name a couple: Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta....but there are few, if any, after that. Not to mention that Messi shows up at training camp a week earlier because he missed the team is unreal. In an age of self-absorbed athletes that care more about their bling bling, Messi (along with Iniesta, Xavi and Puyol) is something all sports fans can root for and be proud of - regardless of what team you like or what sport you follow.
WOW!
that's really loyal thing to do from a player to his club
he really deserves a statue
hahahahaha, someone should make a picture of messi and a blank cheque with a man beside.
Man: ''Cummon take it''
Messi: ''My club taught me when i was young, not to take money from strangers''
This is what calls for a statue for MESSI, and fitting reply to greedy hogs. Take a bow True cule , Long live the messiah !!!
Now THAT'S Barca style...
City should look for a new coach, goalkeeper ande defenders instead :P
Some things you can't buy with the money
Messi has won la liga, the spanish cup, the CL, if barca win club world cup n supercup, and spanish supercup

to anony: what does messi have to do left with barca? IT all over and to break real's money spending spree. Messi is only 22 he has tons left to do for a club that gave him the chance to be great in the first place!
Lets not get too excited that Messi will never leave. Look at our past. None of our best players have ever stuck to us till retirement.
Next season with a different management, things could be different. A small misunderstanding with the board and BAM, messi will leave us. or they will try to get rid of him...
man city hav gone frm dimwits 2 downright ridiculous..prayin dat v demolish their arabian night dreams @ d gamper....
go messi go..
