Henrique offered to Racing Santander

Santander local football website Euroracing claims that Barcelona has offered Barcelona central defender Henrique Adriano Buss (22) to several Spanish clubs, one of them being Racing Santander.

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo reports that Racing might be interested in the Brazilian player as they are still looking to strenghten the squad with a centre-back. A decision could be made in the coming days.

Speaking to journalists yesterday, Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain seemed to confirm that Henrique won't stay with the squad this season: "If Henrique leaves, that's also because youth players like Fontàs and Muniesa have done better during the pre-season."

Who cares, when healthy we have Puyol,Marquez,Milito, and Muniesa with maybe Alves. more than enough.

More than enough, eh? Milito should not even be counted on. Been out for 18 months and still counting. Then there is only 3 senior central defenders left, plus youth players Muniesa and Fontas. And Puyol is backup for Dani Alves. So if Dani Alves is injured, we don't have any backup in central defence except youth players. Marquez, Pique and Dani Alves could all be injured or suspended at the same time. Fontas and Muniesa in central defence with Puyol on the right against Real Madrid or Chelsea? You really don't think we won't have several injuries this season? The way people want to gamble with this season is just incredible.

Anony, and you think Henrique is the answer for Madrid game to replace injured first-choice players. I'd rather rely on the youths than him.

I don't know if Henrique is the answer. I haven't seen him enough to judge. But at least he has top level football experience.

During pre-season he's so indecisive and shows a lack of fore-thought in positioning, a must for CBs. Even Muniesa and Fontas are able to read a move better than him. I'm sure that's some of the reasons Pep can't rely on him
