Catalan radio station Catalunya Ràdio claims that Barcelona is interested in AS Roma right back defender Cicinho (29 - picture) and Juventus right back defender and Czech international Zdeněk Grygera (29).
Together with Arsenal right back defender and Ivory Coast international Emmanuel Eboué (26) (read more here), the two players are reportedly on a three-names short list managed by the technical department of the club.
Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would now have to decide which of those three players is his first option, after which Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain will start negotiations with the player's club.

Keep Henrique instead.
I think Henrique would be fine as 2. og 3. string on right back and 6. or 7. string in central.
There is no need to scrape the buttom looking for a new defender.
None of them seems very atteactive. I liked Cicinho a lot when I saw him first during the Confederations Cup (2005?) but he has shown his weaknesses since then. Grygera is a kind of Oleguer.
Grygera could be a more defensive solution, so then you would have both at the right (Alves and Grygera) and the left (Maxwell and Abidal) one more offensive and one more defensive option. Grygera can also play in the centre, although I wouldn't trust him there.
Get Grygera :D! He is the ideal player for El Classico, he is going to kill C.Ronaldo again. Grygera! Grygera! Grygera!

But seriously: Grygera is the best option of these 3.
Eboue - I dont think he is a good person and I cant see him accepting being just a sub for Alves. And every 2 seasons he is going to leave on African cup of nations.
Cicinho - played in Real Madrid, often injured and mainly he is very attacking, so it makes a similar player to Alves.
Therefore, Grygera - good guy, more defending (can play also as a central defender), could be cheap.
Not convinced by any of the three. Guess we should chose the cheapest one then...
eboue is my choice and after that grygera ,we dont need a 2nd attacking RB,cicinho defencivly is crap.
on the otherside we can sign noone and use puyol there and give more time to muniesa/fontas and use that money to get fabregas that would be my choice.
i think pep doesnt want an atacking minded RB
