Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola (38) could sign a contract renewal soon.
During the tour in the United States, the Barcelona board would have held new talks with the Catalan coach, who would now seem willing to agree a new deal.
A concrete offer would have been made by the club and if Guardiola accepts that proposal, the new contract could be signed faster than expected.
Both the duration and the economic conditions of the contract could be changed. Guardiola, whose current contract expires next summer, earns at this moment a year salary of 1,5 million euro plus 4 million euro in variables, which would stay the same for his second season.

Could the bonus at 4 million euro be the main drive for the treble? ;-)
funny how managers earn so little compared to players..
It was his first contract, he came a coach with only one year experience. I'm sure his new contract will be up there with the star players.
Imagine he will say "I dont wanna continue here, thanks for everything" lol
He's not gonna sign any renewal prior to the presidential election. He has said that earlier, and i agree with him. Whoever becomes our next president must have a say in who is gonna be the coach.
And in my opinion he should sign it. Don't care who next president is- Guardiola has to be the coach. As far as I care- he can sign a contract for next 20 years...
if he does well this year too i dont think the next president will want him out.but if he fails miserably and we end up 10th on the league(who am i kidding hehehehe)then the next board will kick him
Pep deserves a new improved contract but i highly doubt that he will renew his contract because of 2010 presidentialelections.
